Alison Marie Bales (born April 4, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player of the Women's National Basketball Association, WNBA. High school At the age of five, her family moved from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was born, to the Dayton, Ohio, Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio; she played high school basketball for Beavercreek High School. Michael Raymond Bales (born August 6, 1971) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the National Hockey League over four seasons from 1992 to 1997 with the Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators, accumulating a record of 2–15–1 and a goals against average of 4.13 in 23 games. He currently serves as goaltending coach for the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. Playing career Bales attended Ohio State University, lettering with the Buckeyes from 1990 to 1992, and was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round, 105th overall, of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Steve Bales (born October 7, 1942) is a former NASA engineer and flight controller. He is best known for his role during the Apollo 11 lunar landing. Early life Bales was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, and grew up in the nearby town of Fremont. His father was a school janitor and his mother was a beautician. From a young age he had an interest in space and at the age of 13 he was deeply affected by a ''Wonderful World of Disney'' television show that discussed the future of space travel. Robert Bales (born June 30, 1973) is a former United States Army sniper who fatally shot or stabbed 16 Afghan civilians in a mass murder in Panjwayi District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, on March 11, 2012 – an event known as the Kandahar massacre. Wesley Owen "Lee" Bales (born December 4, 1944) is an American former professional second baseman who played six seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). His career, which lasted from 1963 to 1968, included 31 games played for the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros. A switch-hitter who threw right-handed, he stood and weighed .
