Baldy Northcott Trophy
The Baldy Northcott Trophy or ''Manitoba Provincial Junior B Hockey Championship'' is a Canadian ice hockey series to determine the Manitoba representative at the Keystone Cup - the Western Canada Junior "B" hockey championship. History First awarded by Hockey Manitoba in 1940, the Baldy Northcott Trophy is named after the former professional player Baldy Northcott. He coached the Winnipeg Rangers for one season capturing the 1941 Memorial Cup. Northcott is a member of the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame. The trophy is given to the winners of the Junior B championship in Manitoba, Canada. Several Junior B leagues have participated in the provincial championship over the years. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. The Norway House North Stars are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Norway House, Manitoba. They are members of the Keystone Junior Hockey League (KJHL). The Stonewall Jets are a junior hockey team that plays in Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada. The Selkirk Fishermen are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Selkirk, Manitoba. They are members of the Capital Region Junior Hockey League (CRJHL). The franchise was founded in 1917. They are the longest running junior hockey team in Canada. North Winnipeg Satelites
The North Winnipeg Satelites are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They are members of the Capital Region Junior Hockey League (CRJHL). History Founded in 1980, the North Winnipeg Satelites found much success early on winning the league title five times (1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989) in the 80s. Mitchell Mohawks
The Mitchell Mohawks were a Canadian junior 'C' ice hockey team based in Mitchell, Manitoba until 2019. A senior team with the same name also competed in the Carillon Senior Hockey League until 2013. The minor hockey organization (U7-U18) changed its name from Mitchell Mohawks to Mitchell Mustangs in 2020. The junior team, established in 1988, competed in the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League. The team has won two league championships. The Keystone Junior Hockey League (KJHL) is a Junior 'B' ice hockey league in the province of Manitoba, Canada. The league, sanctioned by Hockey Manitoba, was formerly known as the Manitoba Junior 'B' Hockey League. History The KJHL champion used to play the champion of the Northwest Junior Hockey League (NJHL) for the Baldy Northcott Trophy.
