Bethany Balcer
Bethany Catherine Balcer (born March 7, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Balcer played collegiate soccer at Spring Arbor University, where she was a two-time NAIA national champion, three-time NAIA National Player of the Year, four-time First-Team All-American, and the school's leading scorer. After her collegiate career, she joined Reign FC on a supplemental contract in 2019. Early life Balcer grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan and attended Unity Christian High School, where she played varsity soccer. She is the fourth of five children. Collegiate career Balcer attended Spring Arbor University from 2015 to 2019, where she was a four-year starter on its varsity soccer team. James Balcer
James A. Balcer (born June 24, 1950) is a former alderman of the 11th Ward of the City of Chicagomap. A member of the Democratic Party, he was appointed to the Chicago City Council by Mayor Richard M. Daley in 1997. In May 2015, he was succeeded by former Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner, Patrick Daley Thompson. Military career Balcer served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and in 2001 was belatedly awarded the Bronze Star. René Balcer (born February 9, 1954) is a Canadian-American television writer, director, producer, and showrunner. Early life He was born in Montreal, Quebec, and attended Lower Canada College in Montreal. He studied creative writing at Concordia University under noted Canadian poet Deborah Eibel, and earned his BA magna cum laude in Communication Studies from Concordia in 1978. While a student, he took a six-month lecture-seminar with Jean-Luc Godard and worked as director John Huston's personal assistant during the filming of ''Angela''. He began his media career covering the 1973 Yom Kippur War as a cameraman. He later worked as a reporter, editor and film critic for various Canadian publications, and made documentary films at the National Film Board of Canada.
