Balboa Yacht Club
Balboa Yacht Club (''BYC'') is a yacht club located in Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, Orange County, California. It is located near the entrance of the Newport Harbor. History BYC was founded in 1922 as the Southland Sailing Club, and was soon renamed to the Balboa Yacht Club. BYC has an outstation on Catalina Island, in Whites Cove, west of Avalon. Facilities The facility has a main dining room and outdoor seating, and a pavilion equipped with a barbecue and snack bar. It provides mooring cans, plus both wet and dry boat slips for members and guests for a monthly fee. The wet slips can accommodate boats up to 55 feet in length, and dry slips and a three-ton crane for smaller boats up to 25 feet in length as well as a dinghy launch and storage. The club is open five days a week, plus a full-time dock staff and shore boat. There is also a satellite facility located at Whites Landing on Santa Catalina Island. Lake Tahoe Concours D'Elegance
The Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance is an event held at Lake Tahoe yearly, and serves as one of the most prestigious judging events for classic wooden boats. The event, held over a two- to three-day span in August of every year (with the years 2009 and 2010 being exceptions, held in June), started in 1972 by wooden boat enthusiasts and experts of Lake Tahoe to judge boats much like in a car concours. Now officially hosted by the Tahoe Yacht Club, since 1994, the show has become a renowned event in the wooden boat world. The Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival is an annual event held at the Balboa Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California. The festival celebrates wooden boats of all sizes including wooden canoes, kayaks, and dinghies, as well as yachts and tall ships. The first Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival was held June 6, 2014 and featured 47 boats on display. Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) is one of Australia's leading yacht clubs with a strong elite sailing focus located in Pittwater Newport, New South Wales. The club was formerly located at Kirribilli before relocating to its present location on Green Point, towards the southern end of Pittwater. San Diego Yacht Club is a yacht club located in San Diego Bay. It is located in Point Loma across from a spit of land known as Shelter Island. Facilities The San Diego Yacht Club facility has a main dining room and outdoor deck seating, a bar, banquet space, a sailing center, a library, a swimming pool, saunas, hot tub, gym, tennis courts, and a pavilion equipped with a barbecue. There are wet and dry slips for member use for a monthly fee. The wet slips can accommodate boats up to 90 feet in length, and the dry slips are for smaller boats up to 23 feet in length. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is a New Zealand yacht club, and the club behind New Zealand's America's Cup campaigns, under the guises of New Zealand Challenge and Team New Zealand.
