Alexander Balashov
Alexander Dmitriyevich Balashov (russian: Алекса́ндр Дми́триевич Балашо́в) (13 July 1770 in Moscow – 8 May 1837) was a Russian general and statesman. Balashov came from a noble family. When the boy turned 6 years, his father, a Privy Counsellor and Senator, had him enrolled in the Preobrazhensky Regiment though it was not until November 1781 that he entered the Page Corps, matriculating in 1787 with the rank of Kammer-page. On 9 January 1791 he joined the Izmaylovsky Regiment as lieutenant. From 1795 he was a lieutenant colonel in the regular army. He was promoted Colonel in April 1798 and Major General in 1799. On 21 January 1800 Balashov was dismissed from the military service, but in November of the same year he was appointed governor general and chief of garrisons regiment in Tallinn. Alexandra Balashova
Alexandra Mikhailovna Balashova (russian: Александра Михайловна Балашова; 3 May 1887 — 5 January 1979), also seen as Aleksandra Balashova or Alexandra Balachova, was a Russian ballet dancer, and later a dance teacher and choreographer. Early life Alexandra Balashova was born in Moscow. She was educated at the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet School. Career Balashova was a principal dancer at the Bolshoi Theatre starting in 1905. She often danced with Mikhail Mordkin, and was known for such roles as Aurora in '' The Sleeping Beauty'' and Odette/Odille in ''Swan Lake''. She performed in London in 1911, replacing Yekaterina Geltzer; for publicity, London bootmakers were challenged to fit "her marvelous instep" from their stock. She left Russia in 1921 and danced for about ten more years in Western Europe, then taught, while living in France. Among her students was dance notation expert Jacqueline Challet-Haas. Boris Aleksandrovich Balashov (russian: Бори́с Алекса́ндрович Балашо́в; 7 December 192720 January 1974) was Editor-in-Chief of the Soviet magazine ''"Filateliya SSSR"'' (''" Philately of the USSR"''). Hennadiy Viktorovych Balashov ( uk, Геннадій Вікторович Балашов, born 20 February 1961, Dnipro, USSR) is a Ukrainian businessman, blogger, politician and leader of 5.10 political party. He is an advocate of a radical reform of Ukraine's tax system, so-called "Tax Paradise for humanity". Biography During Euromaidan events, Balashov sided with the protesters and was actively campaigning for his ideas, calling for the introduction of 5.10 system. Viktor Ivanovich Balashov (Russian: Виктор Иванович Балашов; 24 December 1924 – 23 June 2021) was a Soviet and Russian radio and television presenter. He was best known as the host for the USSR Union Radio, from 1944. From 1947 to 1991 he worked for the Soviet Central Television and its Russian successor. Vitaliy Balashov ( uk, Віталій Юрійович Балашов; born 15 January 1991) is a Ukraine, Ukrainian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a forward (association football), forward for Kazakh side FC Turan, Turan. Career He is a product of the FC Chornomorets Odesa Reserves and Youth Team, Chornomorets Odesa Youth academy and has played for both the reserve squad and youth squad. Yuri Sergeyevich Balashov (russian: Ю́рий Серге́евич Балашо́в; born 12 March 1949) is a Russian chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 1973. Chess career Born in Shadrinsk, Balashov was awarded the grandmaster title in 1973. Balashov was champion of Moscow in 1970 and runner-up to Anatoly Karpov in the 1976 USSR Championship. In 1977, he won Lithuanian Championship. He tied for first place at Lone Pine 1977 and at Wijk aan Zee 1982. In 2014, he won the Senior Tournament at the Moscow Open and tied with Anatoly Vaisser, Viktor Kupreichuk and Herman Claudius van Riemsdijk for first in the World Senior Championship in the 65+ section.
