Bakoliya Thana
Bakalia ( bn, বাকলিয়া) is a thana of Chattogram District in Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. Bakalia thana with an area of 12.33 km2 is located in between 22°26' and 22°19' north latitudes and in between 91°50' and 91°54' east longitudes. It is bounded by Chandgaon Thana on the north, Karnaphuli Upazila and Karnaphuli river on the east and on the south, and Chattogram Kotwali Thana on the west. Education Bakalia Government College is recently established as a government college in 2016. According to Banglapedia, Bakalia Government Laboratory School is a notable secondary school. Bakalia Government High School ( bn, বাকলিয়া সরকারি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়), formerly known as Bakolia Government Laboratory High School, is a public secondary school, located in Bakalia in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The architectural design of Bakalia Government High School and the Nasirabad Government High School is done by the same architect; more over both government schools were built in the same year 1967. Karnaphuli
Karnaphuli ( bn, কর্ণফুলি ''Kôrnophuli''; also spelt Karnafuli), or Khawthlangtuipui (in Mizo language, Mizo, meaning "western river"), is the largest and most important river in Chattogram and the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Chattogram Hill Tracts. It is a wide river in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh. Originating from the Saithah village of Mamit district in Mizoram, India, it flows southwest through Chattogram Hill Tracts and Chattogram into the Bay of Bengal. Chittagong District, renamed the Chattogram District, is a district located in the south-eastern region of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chattogram Division. The port city of Chattogram, which is the second largest city in Bangladesh, is located within this district. History Because of the natural harbour, Chattogram had been an important location for trade, drawing Arab traders as early as the 9th century CE.
