Bakio () is a municipality in the province of Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. Location and characteristics It is a small valley which is drained inland by the River Estepona. This valley is surrounded by mountains to the east, south, and west; it is open to the north to the Cantabrian Sea. The municipality adjoins the sea to the north, the town of Bermeo to the east, the town of Mungia Mungia (in Spanish: ''Munguía'') is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country of northern Spain. The town has 17,691 inhabitants (2019). Geography Mungia lies 20 metres above sea level in an area full of o ... to the south, and the towns of Maruri-Jatabe and Lemoiz to the west.
