Bakhtier Farouk is an engineer, currently the J. Harland Billings Professor at Drexel University, and also a published author. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Education and academic career Farouk earned his Bachelor of Science at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1975. Samira Farouk, MD, MS, FASN is a board-certified transplant nephrologist and Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). She teaches medical students, residents, and fellows, and also develops and studies innovations in medical education. Her clinical research interests include the pathogenesis of kidney fibrosis in regards to transplant survival and chronic kidney diseases.
