Lieutenant General Bakhodir Nizamovich Kurbanov () is an Uzbek military leader who has served as the Minister of Defence of Uzbekistan since 2017. Life and career He was born in late 1969 in the Jizzakh Region. From 1987-1989, he served in the Soviet Army. The State Security Service ( Uzbek ''Davlat Xavfsizlik Xizmati'', ''DXX''; in Russian ''Служба государственной безопасности'', ''СГБ'', often romanised as ''SGB'') is the national intelligence agency of the government of Uzbekistan. It was created on 26 September 1991 as a successor to the KGB and its republican affiliate in the Uzbek SSR. Jizzakh Region ( uz, Jizzax viloyati, Жиззах вилояти, جٮززﻩخ ۋٮلايەتى, russian: Джизакская область, Dzhizakskaya Oblast') is one of the regions of Uzbekistan.
