Baiyyappanahalli or New Baiyyappanahalli Extension is one of the neighbourhoods in Bengaluru. It is part of C. V. Raman Nagar in East Bengaluru. The area is a transport hub and popular for Baiyappanahalli metro station and Baiyyappanahalli railway station. History Old Baiyyappanahalli, a village in Bangalore South Taluk, was called as Baiyyappanahalli Manavarthe Kaval populated with 2742 inhabitants (1429 Male and 1313 Female) in 1981 and was considered as uninhabited during 1991 Census. It was merged with Vimanapura (which was then called as Baiyyappanahalli Vimanapura) which hosted 11441 citizens (6157 Male and 5284 Female) in 1981. Baiyyappanahalli NMCT (Non Municipal Census Town) consisted of Baiyyappanahalli Manavarthe Kaval, Benniganahalli and Baiyyappanahalli Vimanapura and was a home to 14905 persons (7873 Male and 7032 Female) during 1991 Census. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is the administrative body responsible for civic amenities and some infrastructural assets of the Greater Bengaluru metropolitan area. It is the fourth largest Municipal Corporation in India and is responsible for a population of 8.4 million in an area of 741 km2. Its boundaries have expanded more than 10 times over the last six decades. Krishnarajapuram or K.R. Puram, officially Krishnarajapuram, is a neighborhood of in North-Eastern Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of the zones of BBMP. Namma Metro ("Our Metro" in Kannada), also known as Bengaluru Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bengaluru, India. Upon its inauguration, it became the first underground metro system in South India. Namma Metro has a mix of underground, at grade, and elevated stations.
