Bait (luring Substance)
Bait is any appetizing substance used to attract prey when hunting or fishing, e.g. food in a mousetrap. Fishing The term is especially used with regard to catching fish. Traditionally, nightcrawlers, insects, and smaller fish have been used for this purpose. Fishermen have also begun using plastic bait and, more recently, electronic lures, to attract fish. Because of the risk of transmitting ''Myxobolus cerebralis'' (whirling disease), trout and salmon should not be used as bait. There are various types of natural saltwater bait. Studies show that natural baits like croaker and shrimp are better recognized therefore more readily accepted by fish. The best bait for red drum (red fish) are pogy (menhaden) and, in the fall, specks like croaker. Hunting Baiting is a common practice in leopard hunting on a safari. Bait (1954 Film)
''Bait'' is a 1954 American film noir, written, directed and produced by Hugo Haas. Haas himself, Cleo Moore and John Agar star in the film. Plot Middle-aged Marko (Haas) is searching for a lost gold mine for nearly 20 years. To share expenses for a prospecting expedition he teams up with bright young Ray Brighton (Agar). When they find the mine Marko decides he doesn't want to share with his partner and plans to murder him. He figures that after the two of them spend the winter together with Marko's trashy young wife (Moore) in a shack far from civilization, he will sooner or later catch them in adultery, and he can use the "unwritten law" to kill Brighton and thus escape punishment from the law. But the plot backfires. "Live Bait" (previously titled "Rise") is the sixth episode of the fourth season of the post-apocalyptic horror television series '' The Walking Dead'', which aired on AMC on November 17, 2013. The episode was written by Nichole Beattie and directed by Michael Uppendahl. The episode centers on The Governor (David Morrissey), who has isolated himself from society after killing his entire army.
