Andy Baio
Andy Baio is an American technologist and blogger. He is the co-founder of the XOXO Festival, founder of Upcoming.org, a former CTO of Kickstarter and the author of the Waxy.org blog. Career In 2003, Baio launched Upcoming, a collaborative event calendar. The site was acquired by Yahoo for an undisclosed sum in 2005 and Baio joined the company as the site's Technical Director. In 2007, Baio announced his departure from Yahoo. In September 2008, Baio joined the board of directors of Kickstarter, a crowdfunding website that helps people with project ideas to connect with potential funders. Baio later joined the staff as Chief Technical Officer in July 2009, stepping down in November 2010 to join Expert Labs. In June 2017, Baio joined Fuzzco as Technology Director. After Yahoo offered to sell the Upcoming domain back to Baio, he launched a Kickstarter campaign that hit its $30,000 goal in May 2014 to revive the site. Christopher Baio (born October 29, 1984) is an American musician, best known for being the bassist for the New York City-based indie rock band Vampire Weekend. He also releases as a record producer under the mononym Baio, and his debut solo album ''The Names'' was released through Glassnote Records on 18 September 2015. Life Baio was turned on to music at an early age, purchasing his first album at the age of seven and going to his first concert, a live performance by the band Cracker, at the age of nine. Baio said that, as a child, he would go to sleep with ''Doolittle'' by Pixies playing. James Joseph Baio (born March 15, 1962) is an American former actor. He began acting on TV at the age of 13. Baio is best known for playing Billy Tate on ''Soap''. His last role was in the 1996 film ''The Mirror Has Two Faces.'' Career Baio first appeared onscreen in 1975 at age 13. He made guest appearances on series such as '' The Facts of Life'', ''Fantasy Island'' and ''The Love Boat'', but his best known role was probably as Billy Tate on the comedy series ''Soap'' (1977–81).
