Bainton railway station was a station on the Selby to Driffield Line. It opened on 1 May 1890 and served the village of Bainton. It closed on 20 September 1954. Bainton is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately south-west of Driffield on the A614 road. According to the 2011 UK census, Bainton parish had a population of 334, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 282. The parish covers an area of . Bainton was served by Bainton railway station on the Selby to Driffield Line between 1890 and 1954. Bainton Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to St Andrew. Later, it was amalgamated with other railways to form the London and North Eastern Railway at the Grouping in 1923. Its main line survives to the present day as part of the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh. Selby To Driffield Line
Selby is a market town and civil parish in the Selby District of North Yorkshire, England, south of York on the River Ouse, with a population at the 2011 census of 14,731.
