Bainton Field
Bainton Field is a baseball stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. It is the home field of the Rutgers-New Brunswick, Rutgers University Scarlet Knights college baseball team. The stadium holds 1,500 spectators. History Baseball at Rutgers has the distinction of being the first intercollegiate athletic event to be held at the university. The game was played on May 2, 1866 against Princeton University, Princeton in which Rutgers lost 40–2. The original name of the facility was the "Class of 1953 Complex - Gruninger Baseball Complex"; however, in 2007, the stadium was renamed in honor of Ron Bainton, an alumnus who graduated from Rutgers in 1962. Bainton donated $1.25 million to renovate the stadium and for ongoing enhancements in the future. Piscataway () is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It is a suburb of the New York metropolitan area, in the Raritan Valley. At the 2010 United States Census, the population was 56,044, an increase of 5,562 (+11.0%) from 50,482 at the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,393 (+7.2%) from 47,089 in 1990. The name may be derived from the area's earliest European settlers who came from near the Piscataqua River, a landmark defining the coastal border between New Hampshire and Maine, whose name derives from (branch) and (tidal river), or alternatively from (meaning "dark night") and ("place of") or from a Lenape language word meaning "great deer". Fred Hill (coach)
Fred Hill Sr. (July 15, 1934 – March 2, 2019) was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head baseball coach at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he served from 1984 through 2013. He earned 13 NCAA baseball tournament bids at the school. Hill was also a head baseball and football coach for the Montclair State University Red Hawks in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He compiled an overall college baseball coaching record of 1,089–749–9. Coaching career Montclair State In seven seasons as football head coach he compiled a record of 52–16–4, including four New Jersey State Athletic Conference titles. He also led them to the school's first 10-win season in 1981. As the Red Hawks' baseball coach, Hill went 148–91–1 in seven seasons. Rutgers Scarlet Knights baseball is the varsity intercollegiate team representing Rutgers University in the sport of college baseball at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented Ohio State University in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the Buckeyes' 126th season overall, the 103rd as a member of the Big Ten Conference, and second as a member of the Eastern Division. The team was led by Urban Meyer, in his fourth year as head coach, and played its home games at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
