Bains is an unincorporated community in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, United States. Its elevation is 187 feet (57 m). History Bains was named for Dr. Henry Bains, a plantation owner. Education Residents are zoned to West Feliciana Parish Public Schools. Elementary school children attend Bains Lower Elementary School and Bains Elementary School in Bains. Secondary schools serving Bains are West Feliciana Middle School and West Feliciana High School in Bains. The West Feliciana Parish Library is located in St. Francisville. The library, previously a part of the Audubon Regional Library System, became independent in January 2004. Hardial Bains
Hardial Bains ( pa, ਹਰਦਿਆਲ ਬੈਂਸ; 15 August 1939 – 24 August 1997) was an Indo-Canadian microbiology lecturer, but was primarily known as the founder of a series of left-wing movements and parties foremost of which was the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist–Leninist) (CPC (ML)). Presenting himself as staunchly anti-revisionist and pro-Stalinist, until his death, Bains acted as the spokesperson and ideological leader of the CPC (ML) — known in elections as the Marxist–Leninist Party of Canada. During his lifetime, Bains' outlook swung from supporting the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin, to Mao Zedong's China, then later to Enver Hoxha's Albania. Shortly before he died, and abandoning his previous sharp criticisms of the country, Bains turned to Fidel Castro's Cuba for inspiration. Jaswinder Singh Bains (born 1 April 1975), better known by his stage name Jazzy B is an Indo-Canadian Punjabi singer and songwriter. Early life and career Jazzy B was born in Nawanshahr, Punjab, India. When he was five years old, his family moved to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. His first album ''Gugiyan Da Jora'' was released in 1993. The rhythm was played by Sukhshinder Shinda who suggested that he move to England if he wanted a prominent career in Punjabi music. Naiktha Bains (born 17 December 1997) is an Australian-British tennis player. Bains has won two singles and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Navdeep Singh Bains (born June 16, 1977) is a Canadian politician who served as Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry from 2015 to 2021. A member of the Liberal Party, he represented the riding of Mississauga—Malton in the House of Commons from 2015 to 2021. Satwant Singh "Sat" Bains (born 28 February 1971) is an English chef best known for being chef proprietor of the two-Michelin star ''Restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms'' in Nottingham, England. Surjit Bindrakhia (born Surjit Bains; 15 April 1962 – 17 November 2003) was a singer from Punjab, India. He was known for his unique voice and hekh, in which he sings a note continuously in one breath. Bain's Cape Mountain is a South African brand of whisky distilled at the James Sedgwick distillery in Wellington, Western Cape (Drakenstein Local Municipality). Launched in 2009, Bain's is South Africa's first whisky produced from a single grain, being made from 100% South African-grown yellow maize (corn).
