Bain Mattox
Bain Mattox is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, based out of Athens, Georgia. Having self-released albums in the past with a backing band simply under the name 'Bain Mattox', his band now goes by name Bain Mattox and Shot From Guns. A self-managed recording artist, Bain Mattox has released four albums since 2002 through SWIM Recordings and athensmusic.net. His music merges the genres of folk and rock, often accenting traditional rock music with instruments such as a mandolin and accordion. The first studio album, Technicolor Episode was recorded and released in 2002 with the help of Don McCollister, a producer who has worked with Sister Hazel, Shawn Mullins, and Indigo Girls. After touring to promote this album, a self-titled album was recorded and released under SWIM Recordings. Creative Loafing
Creative Loafing is an Atlanta-based publisher of a monthly arts and culture newspaper/magazine. The company publishes a 60,000 circulation monthly publication which is distributed to in-town locations and neighborhoods on the first Thursday of each month. The company has historically been a part of the alternative weekly newspapers association in the United States. Creative Loafing began as a family-owned business in 1972 by Deborah and Chick Eason, expanding to other cities in the Southern United States in the late 1980s and 1990s. In 2007 it doubled its circulation with the purchase of the ''Chicago Reader'' and ''Washington City Paper''; the $40 million debt it incurred, along with an economic recession, forced the company into bankruptcy one year later. The parent company, Creative Loafing, Inc. was dissolved and Atalaya sold off the ''Chicago Reader''. Alternative Addiction
Alternative Addiction was an American daily Internet publication devoted to music criticism and commentary, music news, and artist interviews. Its focus was on Alternative rock. It was in operation from 1999 to 2020. History The website was originally created in 1999 by editor-in-chief Chad Durkee. The site concentrated on new music, but its journalists also reviewed reissued albums and box sets. It had also begun garnering a following for its extensive coverage of underground music.
