Jaime Bayly Letts (born February 19, 1965) is a Peruvian writer, journalist and television personality. He has won an Emmy Award and two of his books have been adapted into international movies. Early life Bayly was born to an upper class Peruvian family. He was the first son and the third of eleven children of Jaime Bayly Llona and his wife, Doris Letts Colmenares. He is the nephew of Walter Bayly Llona, CEO of Credicorp. He studied at Markham College, a British private school in Lima, and later at Colegio San Agustín of Lima. William Hellier Baily (7 July 18196 August 1888) was an England, English paleontology, palaeontologist. His uncle was Edward Hodges Baily, E.H. Baily, a sculpture, sculptor. William Hellier Baily was born at Bristol on 7 July 1819. From 1837 to 1844 he was Assistant Curator in the Bristol Museum, a post he relinquished to join the staff of the British Geological Survey in London. In 1854 he became assistant natural history, naturalist, under Edward Forbes and afterwards under Huxley. In 1857 he was transferred to the Ireland, Irish branch of the Geological Survey, as acting palaeontologist, and retained this post until the end of his life. He was the author of many papers on palaeontological subjects, and of notes on fossils in the explanatory memoirs of the ''Geological Survey of Ireland''. Thomas Baily (ca. 1525, Yorkshire - 7 October 1591, Douai) was an English Catholic clergyman during the Elizabethan persecutions. Life Baily was an undergraduate at Clare College, Cambridge, where he graduated Bachelor of Arts in 1546. Soon after he became a Fellow of that house and was promoted to the degree of Master of Arts in 1549. In 1554 he was appointed a Proctor and in the following year he subscribed to the Roman Catholic Articles. About November, 1557, he was appointed Master of Clare College and in 1558 received the further degree of Bachelor of Divinity. In the same year, Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne of England, and efforts were made by the Church of England party at Cambridge to gain recruits to its ranks, but Baily refused to conform to Anglicanism. Martin Neil Baily (born March 29, 1949) is an economist at the Brookings Institution and formerly at the Peterson Institute. He is best known for his work on productivity and competitiveness and for his tenure as a cabinet member during the Clinton Administration. He was one of three members of the Council of Economic Advisers from 1994 to 1996, and chairman of the Council from 1999 to 2001. Laurence Richardson Baily (9 July 1815 – 18 April 1887) was an English marine insurance specialist, director of transport companies and Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1886. Baily was born at Tottenham, the son of John Baily of Gartley House, Kent and his wife Sarah Head. He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and in Paris. Francis Baily (28 April 177430 August 1844) was an English astronomer. He is most famous for his observations of "Baily's beads" during a total eclipse of the Sun. Baily was also a major figure in the early history of the Royal Astronomical Society, as one of the founders and as the president four times. Life Baily was born at Newbury in Berkshire in 1774 to Richard Baily. Edward Hodges Baily (10 March 1788 – 22 May 1867; sometimes misspelled ''Bailey'') was a prolific English sculptor responsible for numerous public monuments, portrait busts, statues and exhibition pieces as well as works in silver. He carved friezes for both the Marble Arch and Buckingham Palace in London. His numerous statues of public figures include that of Horatio Nelson on top of Nelson's Column and Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey on Grey's Monument in Newcastle upon Tyne.
