Bahri Omari (1945)
Bahri Omari (10 February 188914 April 1945) was an Albanian politician, publisher, and writer. Early life Born on 10 February 1889, in the city of Gjirokastër, Janina Vilayet, Ottoman Empire (today Albania), he became at the age of 25 the prefect of Himarë, a coastal town in southern Albania and later fought against the Greek Army during the Greek Occupation of Albania. Career In 1914, Omari moved to the United States where he became editor of the Albanian language newspaper ''Dielli'' which was published by the Vatra Organization. He returned to Albania five years later and participated twice in the parliamentary elections of 1921 and 1923, representing the party of Mufid Libohova. In 1924, during Fan Noli's government, he was elected general secretary of the National Democrat Party and was in charge of its printed medium, "Shekulli". Koçi Xoxe
Koçi Xoxe (pronounced ; 1 May 1911 – 11 June 1949) was an Albanian politician who served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania. He was supported by Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito during efforts to bring Albania into the Yugoslav federation. After Albania's leader, Enver Hoxha, established the country's independence with the support of the Soviet Union, Xoxe was arrested, tortured and executed. Life Xoxe was born in 1911 in Negovan, near Florina in Greece, back then part of the Manastir Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. Mufid Bey Libohova (1876 in Libohovë – 1927 in Sarandë) was an Albanian economist, diplomat and politician and one of the delegates at the Assembly of Vlorë (28 November 1912) where the Albanian Declaration of Independence took place.
