Frank Rutherford
Frank Garfield Rutherford, Jr. MBE (born November 23, 1964) is a retired triple jumper from the Bahamas. He competed in three Olympic Games, and won a bronze medal in 1992, becoming the first Bahamian Track and Field Olympic medalist. He now runs a program which prepares young Bahamian students to play college basketball and American football in the United States. He was a four-time participant at the World Championships in Athletics. He attended the University of Houston, where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Computer Science. He became the first Bahamian to win more than three NCAA triple jump championships. Rutherford won the Bahamas its first World Championship medal with a bronze in the 1987 IAAF World Indoor Championships. He was the US Indoor Track and Field champion in the triple jump in 1991 and still currently holds the triple jump record for the University of Houston. Allan Murray (swimmer)
Allan Murray (born 19 June 1972) is a Bahamian former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He is a three-time Olympian (1992, 1996, and 2000), and a top 16 finalist in the 50 m freestyle at his second Olympic appearance in Atlanta. While studying in the United States, Murray was a member of Georgia Bulldogs swimming team under head coach Jack Bauerle. Career Early years Born and raised in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas, Murray later emerged as the first Bahamian swimmer to reach a summit of worldwide swimming success. He started his sporting career as a resident athlete for the Swift Swim Club, and was trained by his longtime coach Andy Knowles, a former University of Miami swimmer. In 1991, Murray accepted on an athletic scholarship at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where he majored in mathematics and played for the Georgia Bulldogs swimming and diving team under head coach Jack Bauerle. Steven Kelly (born ''Stephen Kenneth Kelly'', 15 February 1955) is a businessman and Olympian best known for having competed three times in the Olympic Games. He represented the Bahamas as an Olympic sailor in the Summer Olympics of 1984, 1988 and 1992. He is currently the CEO of Odyssey Aviation, an international flight handling business which offers private aviation services. Personal life He was born in the Bahamas in 1955, the son of Basil T Kelly CBE and Joan Paula Kelly. He attended McDonogh School, in Baltimore and Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts. He went on to attend the University of Miami. He is also the owner of the Bahamas Iron & Steel Company Limited. A general construction company he bought in 1981 and ran until 1996, when he went into the aviation industry and founded Odyssey Aviation where he currently works. Career Edwards attended Queen's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas and graduated in 1987. She graduated from Stanford University in 1992.
