Baghi (1956 Film)
Baghi is a 1956 Pakistani Urdu film directed by Ashfaq Malik. Sudhir, Musarrat Nazir, Allauddin, and Agha Talish were among the main cast. It is considered the first action film of Lollywood. Plot The film is based on true events from the time of the British rule in the Indian subcontinent. Sudhir (Pakistani Actor)
Shah Zaman Khan Afridi better known as Sudhir (Urdu: ) or Lala Sudhir (25 January 1921 – 19 January 1997) was a Pakistani actor, director and producer. Sudhir was a highly respected film personality. He is known as the first action hero of Pakistani cinema. His film roles symbolized valour and bravery. Mushir Kazmi
Mushir Kazmi (1915 – 8 December 1975) was a film songs lyricist and a poet from Pakistan and India. Early life and career Mushir Kazmi was born in Banoor, Punjab, British India in 1915. Breakthrough film song of his career has a fascinating story behind it – ''Chandani Raatein'' of Dopatta (1952 film). He was hired by the film producer Sibtain Fazli to write the film songs. He tried and wrote many songs but they failed to get his approval. Finally he was given one more day to come up with a film song or be fired from his job. Dejected and feeling down, he went to the roof top of a Lahore building in the evening and laid down on a bed to stare at the night sky above him. At that moment, the words of this highly popular film song were born. Mushir Kazmi ended up writing 97 film songs later for more than 50 films during his career. Inayat Hussain Bhatti
Inayat Hussain Bhatti ( ur, ), (12 January 1928 – 31 May 1999) was a Pakistani film playback singer, film actor, producer, director, script writer, social worker, columnist, religious scholar and a promoter of the development of the Punjabi language and literature. Early life history Bhatti was born in Gujrat on 12 January 1928 in a Punjabi family. In December 1948, he moved to Lahore to study law and initially stayed at MAO College Lahore hostel in Lahore. Saghar Siddiqui
Saghar Siddiqui (born Muhammad Akhtar; 14 Aug 1928 – 19 July 1974), was a Pakistani Urdu poet. Also known as a Saint poet, homeless Siddiqui was found dead on a street corner of Lahore at age 46. Rehman Verma (1927 – 11 August 2007) was a Pakistani music director. He composed playback music for Lollywood's first-ever action movie, ''Baaghi'', in 1956. He was one of the musical duo "Sharma Ji-Verma Ji" along with the Bollywood musician Khayyam before the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Musarrat Nazir Khawaja ( ur, ; born 13 October 1937) is a Pakistani singer and film actress, who acted in many Urdu and Punjabi films. She, many years later, also sang solo, mostly wedding and folk songs. Early life Her parents were a Punjabi middle-class family Kashmiri origin from Lahore. Her father Khwaja Nazir Ahmed, worked as a registered contractor in Lahore Municipal corporation. Sultan Rahi ( ur, ﺳﻠﻄﺎﻥ ﺭﺍﮨﯽ ; June 24, 1938 – January 9, 1996) was a Pakistani actor, producer and screenwriter.
