Baghdad (EP)
''Baghdad'' is a 7-inch EP, released by American punk rock band The Offspring on May 15, 1991. It is currently out of print, but sold 3000 copies within one week of its release. Although Baghdad has never been reissued on CD in its entirety, the title track, "Baghdad", was included on the '' Rock Against Bush, Vol. 1'' compilation from Fat Wreck Chords. The band's official website does not list Baghdad in the discography. Track listing Track notes The EP includes an early version of "Get It Right", of which a later version was released on their second studio album ''Ignition''. The title track "Baghdad" was a re-recording of the song "Tehran" which appeared on the Offspring's debut self-titled album in 1989. It switches the words "Tehran" (the capital of Iran) for "Baghdad" (the capital of Iraq). The Offspring
The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and bassist Todd Morse. Over the course of their -year career, The Offspring have released 10 studio albums and have also experienced a number of lineup changes, most notably with their drummer. Their longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987 and stayed with The Offspring for 16 years. Welty was replaced by Atom Willard in 2003, who was replaced four years later by Pete Parada, who remained as the drummer for The Offspring until 2021. Gregory "Greg K." Dexter Holland
Bryan Keith "Dexter" Holland (born December 29, 1965) is an American musician who is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, primary songwriter and last remaining original member of the American rock band the Offspring. He is also the creator of the hot sauce Gringo Bandito, launched in 2004. In 2017, Holland attained a PhD in molecular biology. Early life and education Holland attended Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California, where he graduated as class valedictorian in 1984. During high school, Holland was the best student in mathematics in his year, and he found it "just as exciting as punk rock". He then attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a B.S. degree in biology, a M.S. degree in molecular biology, and eventually a Ph.D. in molecular biology in 2017. Ron Welty
Ronald Welty (born February 1, 1971) is an American musician and the former drummer for the American punk rock band The Offspring. After The Offspring, Welty formed Steady Ground. Career The Offspring In July 1987, 16-year-old Welty joined The Offspring, replacing James Lilja. Welty performed on The Offspring's first six studio albums: ''The Offspring'', ''Ignition'', '' Smash'', ''Ixnay on the Hombre'', ''Americana'', and '' Conspiracy of One''. Greg K
Gregory David Kriesel (born January 20, 1965) is an American musician known as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist for the rock band the Offspring from 1984 to 2018. Biography Greg K. was one of the founding members of the Offspring alongside singer Dexter Holland. Prior to forming The Offspring, he was also on the track and field team at Pacifica High School, along with bandmate Holland, where he took up playing the bass guitar. Greg K. and Holland had been playing locally since the early 1980s and formed Manic Subsidal in 1983. After hiring Noodles as their new guitarist, Manic Subsidal changed their name to The Offspring in 1986. Noodles (musician)
Kevin John Wasserman (born February 4, 1963), better known by his stage name Noodles, is an American musician and singer who serves as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for The Offspring. Biography Kevin John Wasserman was born in Los Angeles, California. Before joining The Offspring, Noodles played in a local band called Clowns of Death. He was allegedly in The Offspring because he was the only person old enough to provide alcohol for the rest of the members. He earned the nickname "Noodles" for his frequent ''noodling'' on the guitar. At one of the band's earlier shows, he was stabbed in the shoulder by a skinhead. During the band's early days, Noodles worked as a janitor at Earl Warren Elementary School in Garden Grove. ''Happy Hour!'' is a Japanese exclusive compilation album by the American punk rock band The Offspring. It was released on August 4, 2010. The album chronicles tracks from approximately 15 years of the band's career. It is the first album by the Offspring not to be released in the United States. The album includes live versions and remixes of tracks from their studio albums '' Smash'', ''Ixnay on the Hombre'', ''Americana'', '' Conspiracy of One'', and ''Splinter''. Although it was released two years after ''Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace'', this compilation does not contain any live versions and remixes of tracks from that album. "Gone Away" is a song by American punk rock band the Offspring. Written by the band's singer, Dexter Holland, it is the seventh track on the band's fourth studio album, ''Ixnay on the Hombre'' (1997), and was released as its second single. It also appears as the sixth track on ''Greatest Hits'' (2005). A piano version of the song features as the eleventh track on the group's tenth studio album ''Let The Bad Times Roll'' (2021). The song became the Offspring's first No. 1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, while reaching No. 4 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. Rate Your Music (often abbreviated to RYM) is an online collaborative database of music releases and films. Users can catalog items from their personal collection, review them, and assign ratings in a five-star rating system. The site also features community-based charts that track highest-rated releases. History Rate Your Music was founded on December 24, 2000, by Seattle resident Hossein Sharifi, who is still active on the site under the username "sharifi".
