Name The name of the city appears in the form ''Bageis'' (in the genitive plural case of the name of its inhabitants, ΒΑΓΝΩΝ or ΒΑΓΗΝΩΝ) on its coins, but ''Bagis'' is the form given in the '' Synecdemos'' of Hierocles, and ''Bage'' in later ''Notitiae Episcopatuum''. Some of its coins add the additional name of KAISAREΩN apparently denoting the additional city name of Caesarea. Bagé
Bagé () is a city located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 2020, its population was 121,335 in a total area of 4,096 km2. It was the seventeenth largest city in the state according to the 2011 census. The city was founded in 1811 and given city status in 1859. Due to its strategic border location, Bagé has remained of significant military importance. Prior to official reorganization as a city, Bagé was seized by military forces from Paraguay and Argentina. Primary industries located in the surrounding area are cattle and sheep ranching, as well as meat packing industries and wool depots. Recently, Bagé has become one of the largest wheat-producing areas in the Rio Grande do Sul. Along with wheat, soybeans and are also grown in the surrounding region. Bâgé-le-Châtel () is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France. History The name of Bâgé-le-Châtel comes from a Gallo-Roman villa belonging to a certain Balgiasius. In the Middle Ages, three parishes were formed on the territory of the Seigneurs de Bâgé: Bâgé-le-Châtel around the chateau, Saint-André where the church was built, and Bâgé-la-Ville, the largest town. Bâgé-le-Châtel is the ancient capital of Bresse. In 1272, Bresse became part of Savoy when Sibylle de Bâgé, sole heir, married Amadeus V, Count of Savoy. Bourg (today Bourg-en-Bresse), a fortified bastion with 3400 inhabitants, became the capital of Bresse. Bâgé remained a village, whereas Bourg expanded beyond its walls to become the city of today. Edward Frederick Robert Bage
Edward Frederick Robert Bage (17 April 1888 – 7 May 1915) was an Australian polar explorer with Douglas Mawson's Australasian Antarctic Expedition in 1912 and a soldier with the Royal Australian Engineers during World War I. Early life Bage was the only son of Edward Bage, a wholesale chemist from St Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne. He had two sisters, Freda Bage, who would become a lecturer in biology, and principal of the Women's College at the University of Queensland and Ethel Bage. He was born on 17 April 1888, and was educated at the Melbourne Church of England Grammar School in 1900, where he was awarded the Witherby Scholarship in 1901. He completed school in 1904 with honours in physics at matriculation. In 1905 he was awarded a Warden's Scholarship to Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, where he studied Engineering. He obtained first-class honours in Chemistry and won an Exhibition in Surveying in 1905, graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1910 ...

Robert Bage (11 March 1730 – 1 September 1801) was an English businessman and novelist. Biography Born in Darley Abbey, near Derby, Bage was the son of a paper-maker who had four wives, the first of whom was Bage's mother. She died soon after his birth. Bage received his early education at a common school in Derby, where he was an excellent student. He attained a working knowledge of Latin by the age of seven. He was given his training as a paper-maker while he was an apprentice to his father. At the age of 23 Bage married a beautiful and wealthy young woman. With the boost in his finances he set up a paper-manufacturing business in Elford, Staffordshire, which he continued until his death.Scott (1870) p. 606 Bage was a skilled businessman and his smooth running of his business allowed him time for intellectual pursuits.
