Baghdad
Baghdad (; ar, بَغْدَاد , ) is the capital of Iraq and the second-largest city in the Arab world after Cairo. It is located on the Tigris near the ruins of the ancient city of Babylon and the Sassanid Persian capital of Ctesiphon. In 762 CE, Baghdad was chosen as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, and became its most notable major development project. Within a short time, the city evolved into a significant cultural, commercial, and intellectual center of the Muslim world. This, in addition to housing several key academic institutions, including the House of Wisdom, as well as a multiethnic and multi-religious environment, garnered it a worldwide reputation as the "Center of Learning". Baghdad was the largest city in the world for much of the Abbasid era during the Islamic Golden Age, peaking at a population of more than a million. The city was largely destroyed at the hands of the Mongol Empire in 1258, resulting in a decline that would linger through many c ...

To date, Ra has sold 400,000+ albums in North America alone. History Origin of band name Frontman Sahaj Ticotin has commented on the origin of the name Ra in multiple interviews. "...There's an underlying theme where 80 to 90 percent of the songs have the word sun in it. So I have a little sun fetish and I thought that Ra was appropriate." Bagdad (song)
"Bagdad" (stylised in all caps, officially "Bagdad – Cap 7: Liturgia") is a song by Spanish singer and songwriter Rosalía. A fan favourite, it is the seventh track on the singer's second studio album ''El Mal Querer'' (2018), released on 2 November 2018, through Columbia Records. It was sent for a radio release on 4 December 2018 as the album's fourth single. Inspired by the Barcelonian erotic club of the same name, lyrically "Bagdad" talks about a woman's loneliness. It was written by Antón Álvarez, Leticia Sala, Luís Troquel and Rosalía, with production handled by El Guincho and co-produced by Rosalía herself. It contains an interpolation of Justin Timberlake's " Cry Me a River" and a choral participation by the Orfeó Català as well as arrangements by Joan Albert Amargós. Background In an interview with Beats 1, Rosalía said she was inspired by an erotic club in Barcelona called Bagdad and by Timberlake's " Cry Me a River": "He heard the song and said, "Yes, you c ...
