Badrinath Ki Dulhania
''Badrinath Ki Dulhania'' () is a 2017 Indian romantic comedy film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions. A spiritual successor to ''Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'' (2014), the film stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. It follows the story of an aspiring independent air hostess from a small town who refuses to conform to the patriarchal expectations of her chauvinistic fiancé. It is the final installment of the ''Dulhania'' franchise. Principal photography commenced in May 2016 and took place in Panvel, Singapore and Kota. The film was theatrically released in India on 10 March 2017 during the Holi weekend and became a financial success, earning over ₹200.45 crores worldwide. Shashank Khaitan
Shashank Khaitan is an Indian film writer, director, actor and producer who works in Hindi films. He is known for his association with Dharma Productions. Khaitan made his directorial debut with ''Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'' and went on to direct its spiritual sequel ''Badrinath Ki Dulhania'' (2017). His work on the latter earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Director. He also directed the romantic drama ''Dhadak'' (2018) and a segment of the anthology film '' Ajeeb Daastaans'' (2020). In 2019, he became a producer for Dharma Productions, his first production being ''Good Newwz''. Swanand Kirkire (Marathi: स्वानंद किरकिरे) (born 29 April 1972) is an Indian lyricist, playback singer, writer, assistant director, actor and dialogue writer, both in television with Marathi and Hindi films.
