Badminton At The 2023 Pan American Games – Mixed Doubles
The mixed doubles badminton event at the 2023 Pan American Games was held from October 21 to 25 at the Olympic Training Center, located in Ñuñoa, a suburb of Santiago. The defending Badminton at the 2019 Pan American Games – Mixed doubles, Pan American Games champion are Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Josephine Wu of Canada. The pair have since split up and Wu will be competing with new partner Ty Alexander Lindeman. Each National Olympic Committee could enter a maximum of two pairs into the competition. The athletes will be drawn into an elimination stage draw. Once a pair lost a match, they will be no longer able to compete. Each match will be contested as the best of three games. A total of 50 athletes from 16 NOC's competed. Qualification A total of 90 athletes (45 men and 45 women) qualified to compete at the games. Ty Alexander Lindeman
Ty Alexander Lindeman (born 15 August 1997) is a Canadian badminton player. He trains at B-Active Badminton Club, and in 2015, he represented Alberta competed at the XXV Canada Games. He won two U23 national titles in 2016 for men's doubles (with Austin Bauer) and mixed doubles (with Takeisha Wang). In 2017, he won the silver medal at the Pan Am Championships in the men's doubles event with his partner, Austin Bauer. In 2018, he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. Badminton Pan Am
The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. BPAC was founded in Mexico City in 1976 and had nominated Victor Jaramillo of Mexico as President until an official election was scheduled to take place at the first Pan Am Championships the following year. Jonathan Josué Solís Rivas (born 21 August 1993) is a Guatemalan badminton player. He won the gold medal in the men's doubles at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.
