Queen Elizabeth Stadium
The Queen Elizabeth Stadium is an indoor sport facility on the Morrison Hill in Wan Chai, on the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong. First opened in 1980, it has a 3,500-seat arena, gymnasia, squash and badminton courts, and a multi-purpose hall. It was built by the Urban Council, and is now managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. It hosted the official 1983 Asian Basketball Championship. History Queen Elizabeth II made her first visit to Hong Kong, then a British colony, in May 1975. This Royal Visit became the namesake of the stadium. The construction was funded by various means including donations from local philanthropists such as Sir Tang Shiu-kin, and the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. Tsai Chia-hsin
Tsai Chia-hsin (; born 25 July 1982) is a Taiwanese former badminton player. He competed at the 2006 and 2014 Asian Games. Tsai also competed (for the Republic of China as Chinese Taipei) in the 2004 Summer Olympics in mixed doubles with partner Cheng Wen-hsing and in 2016 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Lee Sheng-mu. Chien Yu-chin
Chien Yu-chin (; born 24 October 1982) is a Taiwanese former badminton player. Summer Olympics Chien competed for Chinese Taipei in the 2004 Olympics in the women's doubles with partner Cheng Wen-hsing. They defeated Helen Nichol and Charmaine Reid of Canada in the first round but were defeated by Hwang Yu-mi and Lee Hyo-jung of South Korea in the round of 16. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, again with Cheng, they lost to Wei Yili and Zhang Yawen of China in the quarter-finals. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she teamed up with Cheng again, but they lost to Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei, the eventual winners, in the quarterfinal. Zhao Yunlei
Zhao Yunlei (born 25 August 1986) is a mixed and women's doubles badminton player from China. She graduated with a BA from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She is the first and only badminton player to have ever won two gold medals in the same Olympic edition, winning in both the mixed and women's doubles categories in 2012. Zhao joins the ranks with nine other players with two Olympic gold medals, the highest number of gold medals won by any badminton player. Through her performance at the 2014 and 2015 BWF World Championships, she became the first player to win two consecutive gold medals in two consecutive BWF World Championships. Wang Xiaoli
Wang Xiaoli (; born 24 June 1989) is a Chinese badminton player who is a doubles specialist. In 2012, she competed at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Career In 2005, she joined the Chinese national second team and officially became the first team in 2008. Wang Xiaoli began her international career in 2009 when she paired with Tao Jiaming in mixed doubles and with Ma Jin in women's doubles. She quickly gained success with Ma Jin and culminated their career with a gold medal at the 2009 Asia Championships. In the middle of the 2010 season, Wang Xiaoli dropped mixed doubles from her repertoire of events and began competing in women's doubles with Yu Yang. Ma Jin
Ma Jin (; born 7 May 1988) is a badminton player from China who specialises in women's and mixed doubles. She partnered Wang Xiaoli in women's doubles and excelled in the category until 2010 when both players are split after China failed to defend their Uber Cup against South Korea in Kuala Lumpur. Consequently, Ma Jin was unable to continue competing in the women's doubles event without her regular partner and she had to concentrate on mixed doubles instead. Ma Jin had tasted successes in mixed with several partners, notably Zheng Bo, He Hanbin and Xu Chen. Her domination at the front of the court combined with the power play from Xu Chen made them one of the most dominant Chinese pairs to date, the other being Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei. Zhang Zhibo (, born 23 March 1982 in Liaoning Province) is a Chinese female badminton player and in 2008 she started representing Macau. Career In 2004, she became the mixed doubles champion of the Chinese National Badminton Championships partnered with Liu Zhiyuan. In 2007, she became the women's doubles semifinalist of the Korea International Challenge tournament partnered with Zhang Dan. Zhang Dan (; born 16 January 1982) is a Chinese badminton player and in 2008 she started representing Macau. Career Zhang was specialized in women's doubles and mixed doubles, earning numerous international titles in both events. At the 2005 World Championships tournament she took a bronze in women's doubles with Zhang Yawen. Kim Gi-jung or Kim Ki-jung (; or ; born 14 August 1990) is a South Korean badminton player. He competed at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's doubles event.
