Badminton Association Of Malaysia
The Badminton Association of Malaysia or BAM (Malay: ''Persatuan Badminton Malaysia'') is the governing body of badminton in Malaysia. The association was founded in 1964. Nevertheless, the history of Malaysian badminton starts much earlier. Already in 1934 an association was founded by the provinces Perak, Penang, Selangor, Johore and Singapore. BAM is registered with the Sports Commissioner's Office under the Sports Development Act 1997 of the Laws of Malaysia. The association was founded in 1964 and has 15 states as their members. Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus (born 16 January 1986) is a Danish badminton player. He was a member of the winning Denmark team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China. Career Junior He won 4 junior national titles, 2 in singles in 2003 and 2005 and 2 in men's doubles in 1999 and 2003. Elyas Omar
Elyas bin Omar (16 November 1936 – 15 May 2018) was the third Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well the longest serving as Mayor in Kuala Lumpur history. He served for a period of 10 years. Elyas was the president of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and during his tenure, Malaysia won the Thomas Cup in 1992. In football, Elyas was president of Kuala Lumpur FA when it won the Malaysia Cup three times in a row from 1987 to 1989. On 17 November 1992, he was succeeded by Mazlan Ahmad as Mayor of Kuala Lumpur. Khir Johari
Tan Sri Mohamed Khir bin Johari ( ms, محمد خير بن جوهري, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; 29 January 1923 – 19 November 2006) was a Malaysian politician and the former Malaysian Minister of Education. Born on 29 January 1923, in Alor Setar, Khir received formal education in the prestigious Sultan Abdul Hamid College (KSAH) in Kedah. Khir was a Member of Parliament from 1955 to 1982. He was involved in the Malaysian political scene from its inception and served in the Cabinet of Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Abdul Razak. Upon his retirement he held positions in several organisations, most famously as President of the World Wide Fund for Nature of Malaysia (WWF). Khir died of heart failure at 83 on 19 November 2006. Heah Joo Seang () was a Malayan politician, business leader, rubber magnate, philanthropist and especially a supporter of education. Malaysia, as it has since become, only existed after Joo Seang's death. His contributions span three distinct periods in the country's history: the British Malaya period, the Malayan Union period, and the Federation of Malaya period. Personal life The son of Heah Ah-Kia (or Heah Ah Kiah), Joo Seang was born in Sungei Nibong Kechil, a small village in Province Wellesley, Penang on 2 November 1899.
