Badia Polesine is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Rovigo in the Italian region Veneto, located about southwest of Venice and about west of Rovigo. It is part of the upper Polesine, and is bounded by the Adige river, which separates the communal territory from the province of Padua. Badia Polesine borders the following municipalities: Canda, Castagnaro, Castelbaldo, Giacciano con Baruchella, Lendinara, Masi, Piacenza d'Adige, Terrazzo, Trecenta. The main sight is the abbey of Vangadizza. The town has a station on the Verona-Legnago-Rovigo railroad. It can be reached by road through the SS343 Transpolesana national road and the A31 motorway. Vangadizza Abbey
Vangadizza Abbey (Italian: ''Abbazia della Vangadizza'') is a former Benedictine abbey in the modern ''comune'' of Badia Polesine, northern Italy. It was an independent state from the early Middle Ages until the 14th century. History The creation of the abbey is generally connected with the large donations from marquis Aimeric of Mantua, in the 950s, followed by others from Hugh of Tuscanya few years later. The abbey is mentioned as still in construction in a document from 993. It became an independent fief in 996 and, around 1000, the abbey received the status of diocese directly subject to the Holy See. The independence was confirmed by emperor Frederick Barbarossa in 1177 and by Pope Celestine III in 1196. Estepa
Estepa is a municipality in the extreme south-east of the province of Seville. It had a population of 12.631 in 2013. The town is located north of the Sierra del Becerro mountains. History Estepa possesses a very ancient past and has well-preserved remains to testify to this. Some date back to prehistory including flint tools and axes. The remains reveal the later accession of Carthaginian people. At least two settlements are known: one situated in Los Canterones, shown by ancient deposits some 6 km from the town of Estepa, and the other under present-day Estepa. Legnago () is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Verona, Veneto, northern Italy, with population (2012) of 25,439. It is located on the Adige river, about from Verona. Lendinara
Lendinara is a ''comune'' in the province of Rovigo, Veneto, northern Italy. It is part of the historical and geographical region of Polesine. It is the birthplace of Domenico Montagnana (1680–1750), one of the world's finest violin and cello makers. Tenor Domenico Ronconi was also born in the town. In the latter part of the 19th century, it was the home of Jessie White Mario, the English woman who took an active part in the struggle for the Unification of Italy at the side of Mazzini and Garibaldi.
