Baden–Aarau Railway Line
The Baden–Aarau railway line is a railway line in the north of Switzerland. It runs from Baden via Turgi, Brugg AG and Wildegg to Aarau. Route The line runs from Baden station on the west bank of the Limmat to Turgi station, crosses the Reuss on a stone bridge (the Windisch–Gebenstorf bridge, the second oldestThe oldest railway bridge still in operation is also on the SBB line 710 between Zurich and Brugg. It is the original bridge opened in 1847 on the Swiss Northern Railway's line from Zurich to Baden over the Schäflibach in Dietikon. Baden railway station (german: Bahnhof Baden) serves the municipality of Baden, in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. Opened in 1847, it is owned and operated by SBB-CFF-FFS. The station forms part of the Bözberg railway line, which links Basel with Zürich. It is also on the Zürich–Baden railway and the Baden–Aarau railway, which both form part of the original line connecting Zürich and Olten. The Gotthard railway (german: Gotthardbahn; it, Ferrovia del Gottardo) is the Swiss trans-alpine railway line from northern Switzerland to the canton of Ticino. The line forms a major part of an important international railway link between northern and southern Europe, especially on the Rotterdam-Basel-Genoa corridor. Laufenburg AG
Laufenburg is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It is the seat of the district of the same name. On 1 January 2010 the municipality Sulz merged into Laufenburg. It has approximately 2000 inhabitants. On the other side of the Rhine River lies Laufenburg (Baden), Germany. The same name is not by accident, as the two used to be the same city. Hauenstein Railway
The Hauenstein Railway is a major railway line in Switzerland connecting the cities of Basel and Olten. The original line was built between 1853 and 1858 under the Unterer Hauenstein Pass, an ancient pass through the Jura Mountains, including a long tunnel under the village of Hauenstein. Between 1912 and 1916 a new line with an long base tunnel was built further east, by-passing the steeper sections of the line. Normally long-distance trains use the base tunnel line, and the old summit line is only used by trains serving the local people ('' Läufelfingerli''). Sometimes during disruptions inter-city trains operate on the old line, but it is reasonably fast and diverted trains take only about four minutes longer than normal services. Swiss National Railway
The Swiss National Railway (German: ''Schweizerische Nationalbahn'', SNB) was a railway company in Switzerland. The Swiss National Railway was created in 1875 from the merger of the two companies, the ''Winterthur–Zofingen Railway'' and the ''Zofingen–Singen–Kreuzlingen Railway''.
