Dionysus Records
In ancient Greek religion and myth, Dionysus (; grc, Διόνυσος ) is the god of the grape-harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, festivity, and theatre. The Romans called him Bacchus ( or ; grc, Βάκχος ) for a frenzy he is said to induce called ''bakkheia''. Proto-punk
Proto-punk (or protopunk) is rock music played mostly by garage bands from the 1960s to mid-1970s that foreshadowed the punk rock movement. The phrase is a retrospective label; the musicians involved were generally not originally associated with each other and came from a variety of backgrounds and styles; together, they anticipated many of punk's musical and thematic attributes. The Charades
The Charades is a doo-wop, r&b group which was mostly active in California in the early to mid-1960s and has released a number of singles on various labels. One of the songs it recorded, which was associated with the surf genre, was "Surf 'n Stomp" on the Northridge label. The band also recorded for Tony Hilder's Impact label, and even had a release on a label owned by Fred Astaire. They had a minor hit with "Please Be My Love Tonight". The group, though it has been through some changes, still continues today, and has a history that spans six decades. Robert Drasnin
Robert Drasnin (November 17, 1927 – May 13, 2015) was an American composer and clarinet player. Robert Drasnin was born on November 17, 1927, in Charleston, West Virginia. At an early age Drasnin was interested in the Clarinet so he took lessons but when his family moved to Los Angeles he wasn't able to start until 1938. He attended Franklin Avenue Grammar School in East Hollywood and then Thomas Starr King Junior High and eventually Los Angeles High School in which he joined the American Federation of Musicians. Drasnin joined the United States Army after graduation and served during the Korean War. Dionysus Records announced that Robert Drasnin died on May 13, 2015. Career Robert Drasnin spent the vast majority of his career in music composing for films and television shows. He composed or supervised scores for well over 100 films and TV shows. Eddie Davis (producer)
Edward Louis "Eddie" Davis (1926 – 1994) was an American singer, record producer and record label owner who was active in the 1950s and 1960s. He is an important part of the Los Angeles music scene for that period, especially in the history of Mexican-American rock music. Background He was born Edward Louis Davis in 1926 in Boyle Heights, California. He was half Jewish but was raised in the Catholic faith. He was also a child actor and appeared in some films with Mickey Rooney and Spencer Tracy, James Cagney and Bing Crosby. They were '' Boys Town'', ''Angels With Dirty Faces'', and ''Going My Way''. After graduation from Fairfax High School, he joined the navy and saw action during the Second World War and he was awarded the Victory Medal. Since the mid-1970s, California has had thriving regional punk rock movements.
