Bacchu Kailash
Bachchu Kailash ( ne, बच्चु कैलाश) (born 30 July 1938) is a singer, composer and lyricist of Nepali Music. He displayed virtuoso with his songwriting skills in which his lyrics often provoked a subject from a different perspective and highly poetic form; adding with his unique tenor voice made him highly popular. Early life Bachchu Kailash was born on Shawan 15, 1995 B.S (30 July 1938) in Sapatel, Chhorumbu VDC, Khotang. He was the oldest of six brothers born to Karna Bahadur Basnet and Krishna Kumari Basnet. On the 13th day, his mother died and his father Karna Bahadur Basnet remarried. By the time he was five years old, he was already deep into music. Natikaji
Amrit Lal Shrestha (25 December 1925 – 2 November 2003), better known as Nati Kaji (), was a Nepali singer and songwriter. Kaji was a prominent music director and singer of his time having composed and sung such evergreen songs as Nepali Hami (written by Madhav Prasad Ghimire). Early life Natikaji was a nickname given to Amrit Lal Shrestha by his grandparents, and became the name he is known by throughout the country. He was born in 1925 at Pulchowk, Lalitpur. He lost his mother at the age of 5 and his father at the age of 10 and so was raised by his grandparents at Gujeshwori where his grandfather was the temple priest. Natikaji died on 2 November 2003. Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev ( ne, श्री ५ महाराजाधिराज महेन्द्र वीर विक्रम शाह देव; 11 June 1920 – 31 January 1972) was the King of Nepal from 13 March 1955 until his death in 1972. Dohori Song
Dohori ( or ), also known as Lok Dohori, is a type of Nepali folk song usually sung by two teams, one of men and another of women. It is in the form of question and answer where a team sings a question and the opponent replies through an equally lyrical impromptu couplet and vice versa. The term ''dohori'', means 'back and forth' and refers to the exchange of lyrical phrases between the contesting singers. The song production is collaborative and involves many individuals. Like all Nepali folk songs, dohori originated in the rural areas of Nepal and now is sung in both rural and urban settlements and is popular amongst the Nepali speaking diaspora in the UK, US, and Bahrain.
