''Babydoll'' is a 1988 Hindi-language platinum-selling pop album by Indipop star Alisha Chinai. The success of the ''Babydoll'' album, and that of Suneeta Rao's album ''Senorita'' (1989), encouraged HMV to promote other early Indipop stars such as Ali Haider (singer), Ali Haider (1990). The album was reportedly India's "first fully computerised album". Alisha Chinai (born 18 March 1965) is an Indian pop singer known for her Indi-pop albums as well as Music of Bollywood, playback singing in Hindi cinema. She began her singing career with the album ''Jadoo'' in 1985, and by the 1990s she had become known as the 'Queen of Indipop'. Her best known songs were with producers Anu Malik and Biddu during the 1990s. Her best known song is ''Made in India (album), Made in India''. Indian pop music, also known as Indi-pop, refers to pop music produced in India that is independent from filmi soundtracks for Indian cinema, such as the music of Bollywood, which tends to be more popular. His Master's Voice
His Master's Voice (HMV) was the name of a major British record label created in 1901 by The Gramophone Co. Ltd. The phrase was coined in the late 1890s from the title of a painting by English artist Francis Barraud, which depicted a Jack Russell Terrier dog named Nipper listening to a wind-up disc gramophone and tilting his head. In the original, unmodified 1898 painting, the dog was listening to a cylinder phonograph. The painting was also famously used as the trademark and logo of the Victor Talking Machine Company, later known as RCA Victor. In the 1970s, an award was created which is a copy of the statue of the dog and gramophone, ''His Master's Voice'', cloaked in bronze, and was presented by the record company (EMI) to artists, music producers and composers in recognition of selling more than 1,000,000 recordings. ''Madonna'' is a 1989 Hindi-language platinum-selling pop album by Indipop star Alisha Chinai. The album is mainly Hindi-language covers of songs by the American singer Madonna, and the cover shows Alisha wearing provocative clothes similar to Madonna's at the period. The album was promoted with a four city tour. The Indian press reported that the American singer had actually acknowledged Alisha's tribute, but a reaction came from Indian rapper Baba Sehgal who responded to Alisha's tour and album with a lampoon song "Madonna", where he also dressed as the American singer. Suneeta Rao
Suneeta Rao is an Indian pop singer, playback singer, dancer and stage actress, popular for her songs sung in the 1980s and 1990s. Her most famous song is ''Paree Hoon Main'' from the album ''Dhuan'' (1991). Early life and career Rao was born in Germany. She completed her schooling in Mumbai and higher studies at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. During and after college, she acted in many plays such as ''Evita'' and musicals such as ''They're Playing Our Song'' and ''Greased Lightning''. Singing and stage career Rao started her career with the song ''Suneeta Senorita'' in 1989. She became popular with the song "Paree Hoon main". She released a Hindi pop album entitled ''Dhuan'' in 1991 with HMV, which sold over 75,000 copies, with music by Lesle Lewis. Ali Haider (Urdu:علی حیدر, born 22 September 1967) is a Pakistani singer. He had a number of songs in the 1990s, including "Poorani Jeans", which appears on his 1993 album ''Sandesa''. Career He acted in a Pakistani film Chalo Ishq Larain, released in 2002. In 2012, he returned to music after a three-year break following the death of his son.
