"Baby Sister" is a 1985 single by American singer La Toya Jackson, the first taken from her fourth album ''Imagination''; which was released the following year. The single was released in a 7" format in Japan and later in the United States. Background ''Allmusic'' described the song as "too cute and overdone to be taken seriously" however ''The Baltimore Afro-American'' complimented the track as " new waveish" "ear candy". The single is most notable for being a winner of the "Outstanding Song Award" at the sixteenth annual World Popular Song Festival on October 27, 1985 in Tokyo, Japan, where Jackson performed the song live with younger sister Janet on backup vocals. La Toya Yvonne Jackson (born May 29, 1956) is an American singer and television personality. The fifth child and middle daughter of the Jackson family, Jackson first gained recognition on the family's variety television series, ''The Jacksons'', on CBS between 1976 and 1977. ''One Taste of Honey'' is the debut solo album by Janice-Marie Johnson of the American rhythm and blues group A Taste of Honey. It was produced by Mike Piccirillo and Gary Goetzman for Goetzman/Piccirillo Productions in association with Janice-Marie Enterprises Inc. and included the minor R&B hit ''Love Me Tonight''. The album was recorded following the departure of Hazel Payne from A Taste of Honey in 1983 and after the commercial disappointment of their 1982 album, ''Ladies of the Eighties''. The album was recorded and released due to contractual obligations made with Capitol Records. ''One Taste of Honey'' was released in the summer of 1984, but was a huge commercial disappointment. It was organised by the Yamaha Music Foundation in Tokyo, Japan from 1970 until 1989. ''Imagination'' is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter La Toya Jackson. The album was released on by Private-I Records (an extension of Epic Records). Album information Private-I Records went bankrupt shortly after the album's release in 1986. Because of the record company's financial problems, the promotion was poor for the album and it failed to chart. Three singles were released, the first being "Baby Sister", which was released in Japan, followed by " He's a Pretender" and a remix of the title track. In November 2011, Funky Town Grooves announced that it would be issuing the ''Imagination'' album on CD for the first time, using the original master tapes as their source.
