Babsko Praskalo
Babsko Praskalo ( bg, Бабско пръскало) is a waterfall in the Central Balkan National Park, Balkan Mountains, central Bulgaria. With a height of 54 m the waterfall is among the lowest in the area. Babsko Praskalo is located near the Rusalka and Ravna refuges, on the path between the village of Tazha and Tazha Refuge. Central Balkan National Park
The Central Balkan National Park ( bg, Национален парк Централен Балкан) lies in the heart of Bulgaria, nestled in the central and higher portions of the Balkan Mountains. Its altitude varies from 550 m. near the town of Karlovo to 2376 m. at Botev Peak, the highest summit in the mountain range. It was established on 31 October 1991. The Central Balkan National Park is the third largest protected territory in Bulgaria, spanning an area of 716.69 km² with total length of 85 km from the west to the east and an average width of 10 km. It occupies territory from 5 of the 28 provinces of the country: Lovech, Gabrovo, Sofia, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora. Tazha (river)
The Tazha ( bg, Тъжа) is a river in southern Bulgaria, a left tributary of the river Tundzha of the Maritsa drainage, with a length of 26 km. Its upper course falls within the Dzhendema nature reserve of the Central Balkan National Park. Geography The Tazha takes its source at an altitude of 1,726 m in the Kalofer division of the Balkan Mountains, at 1.4 km south of the summit of Maragidik (1,889 m). In its first four kilometers the river flows eastwards and then bends south in a densely forested deep, at places canyon–like, valley with steep slopes. Northwest of the village of Tazha it leaves the mountain range, forms a large alluvial fan, turns southeast and enters the Kazanlak Valley. The Tundzha ( bg, Тунджа , tr, Tunca , el, Τόνζος ) is a river in Bulgaria and Turkey (known in antiquity as the Tonsus) and the most significant tributary of the Maritsa, emptying into it on Turkish territory near Edirne.
