Babu (title)
The title babu, also spelled baboo, is used in the Indian subcontinent as a sign of respect towards men. In some cultures, the term "babu" is a term of endearment for a loved one as well. The honorific " ji" is sometimes added as a suffix to create the double honorific "babuji", which in northern and eastern parts of India is a term of respect for one's father. "Babu" can also be used as a term of respect for any respected elder or man. In some Indian Zamindari estates the title Babu or Sri was used by its rulers. In many kingdoms the members of royal family and kin of the kings also used this title. In Bangla and Maithili, "babu" is used as a suffix to a person's name to show respect while calling him by name, for example, "Mohan ''babu'', could you please come here?". In Bengal, the word Babu or Babushona is used more broadly, meaning baby or a little kid or one's child, especially to younger kids. In the Saurashtra language, babu may refer to a younger brother, male, (sibli ...

Baboo (airline)
Fly Baboo SA, marketed as Baboo, was a regional airline based on the grounds of Geneva International Airport and in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland. In November 2010, the company was saved from bankruptcy and acquired by Darwin Airline Group from Lugano. The first flight to Lugano took place on November 3, 2003 with a Cirrus Airlines aircraft. In May 2004 the airline obtained its Air Operator's Certificate licence from the Federal Office for Civil Aviation of Switzerland (FOCA), allowing it to operate with its own aircraft - a 50-seat Dash 8-Q300 leased from the manufacturer, Bombardier Aerospace. Baboo was then able to acquire its own aircraft, two Dash 8-Q400 turboprops that formed the airline's fleet for the next five years. In 2007, Baboo was running out of capital and was sold to Lebanese Investment Group M1; among the major developments an equity inc ...

Baboo English
Indian English has developed a number of dialects, distinct from the General/Standard Indian English that educators have attempted to establish and institutionalise, and it is possible to distinguish a person's sociolinguistic background from the dialect that they employ. These dialects are influenced by the different languages that different sections of the country also speak, side by side with English. The dialects can differ markedly in their phonology, to the point that two speakers using two different dialects can find each other's accents mutually unintelligible. Indian English is a "network of varieties", resulting from an extraordinarily complex linguistic situation in the country. (See Official languages of India.) This network comprises both regional and occupational dialects of English. The widely recognised dialects include Malayali English, Telugu English, Maharashtrian English, Punjabi English, Bengali English, Hindi English, alongside several more obscure dia ...
