Joe Babich
Joseph Frank Babich (10 October 1940 – 13 January 2022) was a New Zealand winemaker. He was among those involved in the transformation of the New Zealand wine industry from the 1970s. Biography Born on 10 October 1940, Babich was the son of Josip Babich, who founded Babich Wines, and Mara Babich (née Grgich). He was educated at Henderson High School, and after leaving school, he began working for the family company in 1958. At that time, they produced mainly fortified wines and generic red and white wines. Babich founded the Young Winemakers' Group, and was in the vanguard of those who worked to modernise production and raise standards in the New Zealand wine industry in the 1970s. He helped to pioneer vineyards in new areas of New Zealand, and produced one of the first chardonnays in New Zealand to be fermented and matured in barrels on its yeast lees. Bob Babich (linebacker)
Robert Babich (May 5, 1947 – April 4, 2022) was an American professional football player who was a linebacker for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Diego Chargers and the Cleveland Browns. He played college football at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Babich played high school football for Campbell Memorial High School in Campbell, Ohio. He was a first-team All-America linebacker for Miami University, known then as the Redskins. He graduated in 1969. He was voted the "Most Valuable Player" award twice by his teammates and selected as Miami's "Athlete of the Year" for the 1968-69 academic year. John Charles Babich (May 14, 1913 – January 19, 2001) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball from 1934 to 1941 for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Bees and Philadelphia Athletics. Babich was of Croatian descent. Babich had his best season in 1940 with the Philadelphia Athletics when he went 14–13 with a 3.73 earned run average. George Babich
George Michael Babich (April 4, 1918 – July 22, 1984) was an American professional wrestler and college basketball head coach.
