''Babagwa'' (English: ''The Spider's Lair'') is a 2013 Filipino drama film written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana. The film stars Alex Medina as Greg, an internet scammer who falls in love with a wealthy old maid while trying to swindle her using a fake Facebook profile. The film competed under the New Breed section of the 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. It went on to be screened in film festivals in Hawaii, Cleveland, Vancouver, and Warsaw. Synopsis Greg (Alex Medina) uses a fake Facebook account to trick people into depositing money into his bank account. Assuming the persona of a fictional guy named Bam (Kiko Matos), he flirts with a filthy rich woman that he met online. 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival
The 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival was successfully held from July 26 to August 4, 2013 in Metro Manila, Philippines. This year's theme is "Synergy of the Senses", which makes the entries to deliver mature content and provocative themes. The opening film is ''Jazz in Love'' by Baby Ruth Villarama, a documentary about a Filipino gay man who waits for the arrival of his German boyfriend. The closing film is Joel Lamangan's ''Burgos'' which stars Lorna Tolentino as Edita Burgos, the crusading mother of missing activist Jonas. Jerico Antonio (born May 24, 1983), commonly known as Nico Antonio, is a Filipino actor, producer and singer. Biography Antonio is the eldest of four siblings, to Reynerio Antonio and Joji Alonso is a film producer. Kapampangan Language
Kapampangan or Pampangan is an Austronesian language, and one of the eight major languages of the Philippines. It is the primary and predominant language of the entire province of Pampanga and southern Tarlac, on the southern part of Luzon's central plains geographic region, where the Kapampangan ethnic group resides. Kapampangan is also spoken in northeastern Bataan, as well as in the provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Zambales that border Pampanga.
