B Team Jiu Jitsu
B Team Jiu-Jitsu, also known as the B Team, is a submission grappling team and gym located in Austin, Texas. Led by ADCC silver medalist Craig Jones, it is regarded as the second best grappling organization in the world. History The B-Team was started in 2021 after the split of John Danaher's eponymous "Danaher Death Squad", by former team members Craig Jones, Nicky Ryan, Nick Rodriguez, and Ethan Crelinsten. Around the same time, Danaher, Gordon Ryan, and Garry Tonon started New Wave Jiu-Jitsu in Austin. In 2022, Jay Rodriguez won the ADCC North American West Coast trials in the 88kg division while Izaak Michell won the ADCC Asia and Oceania trials in the 99kg division. During the 2022 ADCC World Championships, the B-Team was represented by seven athletes competing across all weight classes. Craig Jones (grappler)
Craig Benjamin Jones (born July 17, 1991) is an Australian grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt competitor and coach. An IBJJF world No-Gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion as a purple belt, Jones is a two-time ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship silver medallist and a three-time Polaris Pro Grappling champion. Jones trains out of Austin, Texas & is the head of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu. Biography Craig Jones was born on 17 July 1991, in Adelaide, South Australia. In 2006 Jones started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) at his cousin's academy. After getting his purple belt, Jones moved to Melbourne where he started training under Lachlan Giles. In 2014 Jones won gold at the NAGA World Championship and gold at the AFBJJ Pan Pacific Championship, a tournament held annually in Melbourne. Garry Tonon
Garry Lee Tonon (born September 12, 1991) is an American submission grappler and mixed martial artist. He is a five-time Eddie Bravo Invitational champion, and has won titles at ADCC submission wrestling championship, IBJJF World and Pan American championships. He is known for his use of leglocks in submission-only grappling matches, and is a former member of the "Danaher Death Squad," a grappling team that was led by John Danaher at Renzo Gracie Academy. While he still maintains a consistent submission grappling training schedule, since his debut in early 2018 Tonon has focused primarily on training and competing in professional mixed martial arts competition. He is an active fighter for the Singapore-based mixed martial arts promotion ONE Championship. He officially signed with the organization in October 2017.
