BZN
BZN (''Band Zonder Naam''; Dutch for "Band Without Name") was a Dutch pop group that had a string of hits from 1966 to 2007 on. BZN recorded mostly in English and French, but also had success with material in Dutch and German. History BZN started out as a pop-rock band in their native Volendam in 1966, playing early- Bee Gees-like harmony pop. The initial line-up consisted of Jan Veerman (vocals), Cees Tol (guitar), Evert Woestenburg (guitar) Jan Tuijp (bass guitar) and Gerrit Woestenburg ( drums). In the early 1970s, the band switched to hard rock and had its first successes, including a brace of Top 40 hits. After original lead singer Veerman left the band, and drummer Jan Keizer took his place, the band made a musical U-turn and opted for commercial middle-of-the-road pop, adding female co-vocalist Anny Schilder and laying the foundation for their status as the most popular Dutch band ever (in terms of hit singles and albums). Anny Schilder

They had her audition, but she initially was too timid to become a performer. It took some time, but Veerman was able to convince her. She became, together with Jan Keizer (singer), Jan Keizer the face of BZN from 1976 until 1984. Carola Smit
Carola Sier-Smit (born 1 September 1963) is a Dutch singer and was a member of Dutch pop band BZN from 1984 until 2007 when the band disbanded. Biography Musical career Smit was born Volendam, and began her musical career in 1980 (at age 17), when she joined the band ''Double Trouble''. When she was with that band, she released her first single ''Never Loved This Way Before''. In 1982, she released her second single ''Tell Me''. In 1983 the band was renamed ''Friends''. At the same time, she was asked to join BZN to replace previous member Anny Schilder. This change was, however, kept secret. They recorded the song ''If I say the words'' and the album ''Reflections'' in secret, but the news of Schilder leaving BZN was leaked, and Schilder appeared on TV explaining her reasons for leaving the band. Jan Keizer (singer)
Jan Keizer (born 3 April 1949 in Volendam) is a Dutch singer and composer, best known as one of the singers of the popband BZN. Career Keizer began his career in music as a drummer with the band Empty Hearts, which he renamed the Q-tips two years later, after the main guitar player left, and turned it into a close-harmony band. By the late 1960s Keizer joined BZN to replace their drummer, Jaap Sombroek. When the band's lead singer, Jan Veerman, left in 1974 Keizer replaced him. In 2007, he disbanded BZN. In 2008, he released another solo album ''Give me your smile''. His sixth solo album ''Chords of Life'' was released in 2009. In January 2010, he was on the jury for the TROS singing competition ''Sterren.nl Academy''. Jan Smit (born 31 December 1985) is a Dutch singer, television host, and actor. Smit mostly sings songs in the Dutch language, in a genre known as ''Volendam music''. In addition to his solo career, in 2015 Smit joined the schlager trio KLUBBB3, and in 2017 The Toppers. As a TV presenter, he has worked on programs like the ''Beste Zangers'' (Best Singers in the Netherlands) and ''Sterren Muziekfeest op het Plein'' (Music Festival on the square.) Volendam
Volendam () is a fishing town in the municipality of Edam-Volendam, province of North Holland, Netherlands. As of 1 January 2021, it has a population of 22,715. It is twinned with Coventry, England. History Originally, Volendam was the location of the harbour of the nearby Edam, which was situated at the mouth of the IJ bay. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
