BUCS Super Rugby
BUCS Super Rugby is the highest level of men's university rugby in Britain and a potential pathway for university players into elite rugby. It comprises ten teams from universities in England and Wales. The league is named for its governing body, British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). History BUCS Super Rugby was launched in 2016 as a new, top level of university rugby above the existing North A and South A leagues. The eight teams in the inaugural 2016–17 season were those who finished in the top four of the North A and South A leagues in the preceding 2015–16 season. British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) is the governing body for higher education sport in the United Kingdom. BUCS was formed in June 2008 following a merger of British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) and University College Sport (UCS) organisations. BUCS is responsible for organising more than 52 inter-university sports within the UK and representative teams for the World University Championships and the World University Games. Hartpury University R
Hartpury is a civil parish in Gloucestershire, England. It has an area of about , about 270 homes and a population of about 700 people, increasing to 1,642 at the 2011 census. The village is about north of Gloucester. Geographically the parish is in Leadon Vale; administratively it is in the Forest of Dean. The Hartpury University and Hartpury College campus is based in the village. Governance An electoral ward in the same name exists. This ward runs north to Corse. The total ward population at the 2011 census was 2,496. Architecture The village has several interesting buildings including the former home of the Canning family, Hartpury House, now part of the college. Christ Tshiunza (born 9 January 2002) is a rugby union player who plays as a lock or flanker for Exeter Chiefs in the English Premiership. Tshiunza has represented Wales and Wales U20. Club career Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, to a French family, he moved to Wales in 2010. He attended Whitchurch High School in Cardiff, where he was part of the Cardiff Blues academy, before going to study at University of Exeter, where he was signed by the Chiefs on a four-year contract. Ben Thomas (born 25 November 1998) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Cardiff Rugby as a centre. He was a Wales under-20 international. Samuel George Skinner (born 31 January 1995) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a lock for United Rugby Championship club Edinburgh. Harry Alan J. Randall (born 18 December 1997) is an English professional rugby union player who plays as a scrum-half for Bristol Bears in Premiership Rugby. Daniel Kelly (born 16 June 2001) is an English professional rugby union player for Leicester Tigers in Premiership Rugby. His usual position is centre. Born in Manchester, England, Kelly represented Ireland Under 20s, before being capped for the national team in 2021.
