Whilst football has been played informally on beaches, the introduction of ''beach soccer'' was an attempt to codify rules for the game. This was done in 1992 by the founders of Beach Soccer Worldwide, a company set up to develop the sport and responsible for the majority of its tournaments. History Beach football ( or ''futebol de areia'') started in Brazil, more precisely at Rio de Janeiro. In 1950 the first official tournament was created to unite neighborhood small tournaments that happened since 1940. It has grown to be an international game. Mundialito De Clubes
The Mundialito de Clubes ( en, link=yes, Club World Cup) is an international club beach soccer competition contested between top men's clubs from around the world. The tournament is loosely similar to the FIFA Club World Cup in association football, however participating teams are not regional champions, instead entering via invitation. Organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the competition was founded by BSWW with Brazilian sports agency Koch Tavares in 2011. The first five editions hosted in Brazil whilst the sixth saw the event hosted in Europe; the tournament should not be confused with BSWW's existing BSWW Mundialito, Mundialito, which takes place in Portugal for national teams. Russian Beach Soccer Championships
The Russian Beach Soccer Championships (russian: Чемпионат России по пляжному футболу) are the main national beach soccer championships in Russia. They are performed annually since 2005. Overall, 9 clubs (formerly 16 and 8 clubs) qualified through regional championships participate. They are divided into four groups, each composed of four teams, and two of the best clubs in each team will reach the quarterfinals. The winner is decided after a series of play-off rounds. Regulations Formerly, 16 teams participated in the main round. At times there were qualifying rounds. The number of teams was reduced to 8 in 2011. A new system was introduced in the 2014 season. Aleksey Sergeyevich Makarov (russian: Алексей Сергеевич Макаров; born 20 August 1987) is a Russian beach soccer player currently active as a forward. Career Makarov began his professional beach soccer team in the FC Strogino club. For a short period he played for FC Delta Saratov in 2010, but then switched to Lokomotive Moscow where he has been playing since 2010. His first coach was Aleksey Grishin. Makarov debuted for the national team in the qualifying rounds of the 2007 Euro Beach Soccer League. Makarov played for Lokomotive from 2010 to 2018. He switched to Spartak Moscow in 2018. Anton Pavlovich Shkarin (russian: Антон Павлович Шкарин; born 15 November 1982) is a Russian beach soccer player. He currently plays as defender for Krylya Sovetov Samara. Career Shkarin began his professional beach soccer team in the Spartak-Shchyolkovo club. He played for three seasons in the Russian club Strogino, and since 2010 he is playing for Lokomotive Moscow. His first coach was Vladimir Sinitsa. He debuted for the national team at the 2005 Euro Beach Soccer Cup.
