BRMC Sanctuary
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (sometimes abbreviated to BRMC) is an American rock band from San Francisco, California. The group originally consisted of Peter Hayes (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Robert Levon Been (vocals, bass, guitar), and Nick Jago (drums). Jago departed the band in 2008 and was replaced by Leah Shapiro. They have released eight studio albums: '' B.R.M.C.'' The Fillmore
The Fillmore is a historic music venue in San Francisco, California. Built in 1912 and originally named the Majestic Hall, it became the Fillmore Auditorium in 1954. It is in Western Addition, on the edge of the Fillmore District and Upper Fillmore neighborhood. History The building which became The Fillmore was built in 1912 and initially housed the Majestic Hall and Academy of Dancing. Its name was changed from the Majestic Hall in 1936 to the Ambassador Dance Hall. From 1939 to 1952, it operated as the Ambassador Roller Skating Rink. In 1954, Charles Sullivan, one of the most successful African-American businessmen in San Francisco at the time, started booking bands and renamed the venue The Fillmore Auditorium. In December 1965, Sullivan let Bill Graham use his dance hall permit to book a benefit for the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and after that Graham continued to book shows there. Nick Jago
Nicholas Jago (born 19 July 1976) is an English musician, best known as the former drummer and founding member of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.Strong, Martin C. (2003) ''The Great Indie Discography'', Canongate, , p. 628-9 Jago was born in Abadan, Iran, to an English father and Peruvian mother and grew up in Devon, England. He attended St Cuthbert Mayne School in Torquay then specialized in art and design at South Devon College. He went on to study a degree in Fine Art Painting at the Winchester School of Art in Hampshire. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the United States in 1995 whilst visiting family. He switched his focus to music and joined a band with Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes. They moved to Los Angeles after garnering music business interest. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical project and band led and started by Anton Newcombe. It was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The group was the subject of the 2004 documentary film called '' Dig!'', and have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships as well as the erratic behavior of Newcombe. The collective has released 18 albums, five compilation albums, five live albums, 13 EPs, 18 singles as well as two various-artist compilation albums to date. The bandname is a ''portmanteau'' of deceased Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones and the 1978 Jonestown Massacre. ''The Wild One'' is a 1953 American crime film directed by László Benedek and produced by Stanley Kramer. Outlaw Motorcycle Club
An outlaw motorcycle club is a motorcycle subculture generally centered on the use of Cruiser (motorcycle), cruiser motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons and chopper (motorcycle), choppers, and a set of ideals that purport to celebrate freedom, nonconformity to mainstream culture, and loyalty to the biker group. ''Wrong Creatures'' is the eighth studio album by American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The album was released through Vagrant Records on January 12, 2018. Four songs were released as singles in late 2017 ahead of the album's release: "Little Thing Gone Wild", "Haunt", "Question of Faith", and "King of Bones". A limited edition package with a clear vinyl edition of the album, a black BRMC-branded Hohner harmonica, and a 'Black Cassette EP' was released in late April 2018. The EP contained three new unreleased songs and an extended version of the album's opener, "DFF". Reception ''Wrong Creatures'' received generally favorable reviews from music critics. ''Specter at the Feast'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, released on March 18, 2013 in Europe and March 19, 2013 in the US. It was released under the band's own record label, Abstract Dragon, through Vagrant Records. Unlike ''Beat The Devil's Tattoo'', the album wasn't produced by Michael Been, who died after he suffered a heart attack mid-tour in 2010 while the band was playing at Pukkelpop. As a result, ''Specter at the Feast'' was a way for the band to mourn their loss and rid the pain, as he was the father of bassist Robert Levon Been, but also their live sound technician and a mentor to all the members. ''Baby 81'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It was released on April 27, 2007 in Germany, April 30 in Europe and on May 1 in the U.S.. The album features a harder, more raw sound compared with their previous record ''Howl''. It was also a studio comeback for drummer Nick Jago who was unable to participate during the recordings of ''Howl'' (other than the last track recorded during the sessions, 'Promise'). A DualDisc edition of the album was set to be released on May 1 in the U.S.; however, it has since been canceled. The album debuted at number 46 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200, selling about 14,000 copies in its first week. The album title refers to Baby 81, a survivor of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.
