BPS Barbara Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award
The BPS Barbara Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest UK professional award for clinical neuropsychologists. It was created by the British Psychological Society's Division of Neuropsychology (DoN) in 2010 and is awarded on an annual basis. The award is named in honour of Professor Barbara A. Wilson, OBE, Ph.D, CPsychol, ScD, FBPsS, FMedSci, AcSS. Neuropsychology is a branch of psychology concerned with how a person's cognition and behavior are related to the brain and the rest of the nervous system. The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (ICH) is an academic department of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences of University College London (UCL) and is located in London, United Kingdom. Faraneh Vargha-Khadem (born 1949) is a British cognitive neuroscientist specializing in developmental amnesia among children. The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) is a research institution dedicated to discovering what causes mental illness and diseases of the brain. In addition, its aim is to help identify new treatments for them and ways to prevent them in the first place.
