BPP (complexity)
In computational complexity theory, a branch of computer science, bounded-error probabilistic polynomial time (BPP) is the class of decision problems solvable by a probabilistic Turing machine in polynomial time with an error probability bounded by 1/3 for all instances. BPP is one of the largest ''practical'' classes of problems, meaning most problems of interest in BPP have efficient probabilistic algorithms that can be run quickly on real modern machines. BPP also contains P, the class of problems solvable in polynomial time with a deterministic machine, since a deterministic machine is a special case of a probabilistic machine. Informally, a problem is in BPP if there is an algorithm for it that has the following properties: *It is allowed to flip coins and make random decisions *It is guaranteed to run in polynomial time *On any given run of the algorithm, it has a probability of at most 1/3 of giving the wrong answer, whether the answer is YES or NO. Black Panther Party
The Black Panther Party (BPP), originally the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, was a Marxist-Leninist and black power political organization founded by college students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in October 1966 in Oakland, California. The party was active in the United States between 1966 and 1982, with chapters in many major American cities, including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Philadelphia. They were also active in many prisons and had international chapters in the United Kingdom and Algeria. Upon its inception, the party's core practice was its open carry patrols ("copwatching") designed to challenge the excessive force and misconduct of the Oakland Police Department. From 1969 onward, the party created social programs, including the Free Breakfast for Children Programs, education programs, and community health clinics. The Black Panther Party advocated for class struggle, claiming to represent the proletarian vanguard. In ...

Bihar People's Party
Bihar People's Party was a political party in the Indian state of Bihar, founded in 1993 by former leader of the Samajwadi Krantikari Sena and former Janata Dal MLA, Anand Mohan Singh. Singh's wife, Lovely Anand, won a by-election to the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the Parliament of India) from the north Bihar constituency of Vaishali in 1994 by defeating veteran leader Kishori Sinha, wife of Bihar stalwart and former Chief Minister Satyendra Narain Sinha. The party then fielded around 100 candidates in the 1995 state assembly elections, with Anand Mohan Singh himself standing and losing in three separate constituencies. BPP then joined with the Samata Party and Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha as a candidate of that party in 1996, then as an All India Rashtriya Janata Party candidate in 1998. In 1999 BPP contested the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (United). The party contested the 2000 Bihar legislative election in a ...

Bin Packing Problem
The bin packing problem is an optimization problem, in which items of different sizes must be packed into a finite number of bins or containers, each of a fixed given capacity, in a way that minimizes the number of bins used. The problem has many applications, such as filling up containers, loading trucks with weight capacity constraints, creating file backups in media and technology mapping in FPGA semiconductor chip design. Computationally, the problem is NP-hard, and the corresponding decision problem - deciding if items can fit into a specified number of bins - is NP-complete. Despite its worst-case hardness, optimal solutions to very large instances of the problem can be produced with sophisticated algorithms. In addition, many approximation algorithms exist. For example, the first fit algorithm provides a fast but often non-optimal solution, involving placing each item into the first bin in which it will fit. It requires '' Θ''(''n'' log ''n'') time, where ''n' ...
