BM Babak-Matveev
BM Babak-Matveev is an art-duo of Ukrainian artists Mykola Babak and Evgene Matveev, created in 2014. Before working together, they were successfully realized as independent artists and won the highest state title, becoming People's Artists of Ukraine and winners of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize. Mykola Babak in 2005 represented Ukraine at the Venice Biennale with the national project "Your Children, Ukraine". Evgene Matveev was a participant of the Autumn Salon in Paris in 1990. Both artists have participated in many exhibitions, competitions, biennials in Ukraine and abroad. They have created dozens of large-scale art projects and won national and international awards and prizes. The first collaboration between Babak and Matveev took place within the framework of the implementation of unique art publishing projects. Mykola Babak
Mykola Babak ( uk, Микола Бабак, 10 June 1954) is a Ukrainian artist, writer, publisher, and art collector; participant of the Ukrainian New Wave; lives and works in Cherkasy. Biography Mykola Babak was born in Voronyntsi, Cherkasy Oblast. In 1971 he finished Melnyky Secondary School. From 1972 till 1972 he served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization he worked as a designer at Cherkasy "Azot" Company and at Cherkasy Combine of art-advertisement. From 1979 till 1985 together with a group of other artists he managed monumental projects (paintings, mosaics, stained-glass windows) in the far-east of Russia. In 1986 Mykola Babak came back to Ukraine. People's Artist Of Ukraine
People's Artist of Ukraine is an honorary and the highest title awarding to outstanding performing artists whose merits are exceptional in the sphere of the development of the performing arts (theatre, music, dance, circus, cinema, etc.). Established in 1922 during Soviet times, it was technically called People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (Народний артист УРСР). With the establishment of independent Ukraine, this tradition was kept and the title was renamed as People's Artist of Ukraine (Народний артист України). Polyptych
A polyptych ( ; Greek: ''poly-'' "many" and ''ptychē'' "fold") is a painting (usually panel painting) which is divided into sections, or panels. Specifically, a "diptych" is a two-part work of art; a "triptych" is a three-part work; a tetraptych or quadriptych has four parts, and so on. Historically, polyptychs typically displayed one "central" or "main" panel that was usually the largest of the attachments; the other panels are called "side" panels, or "wings".
