BLUEsat
The Bluesat project is an engineering project being undertaken by undergraduate students at the University of New South Wales. It aims to raise awareness of outer space, space and give students the opportunity to undertake space engineering projects. Current projects include an Spacecraft attitude control, attitude control system for the Waratah Seed project and a CubeSat design for the Japanese Satellite Design Competition (Satcon). Past projects Bluesat's ground station team is assisted in ACSER's ECO360 satellite and built a number of system in that satellite. Bluesat's Off-World Robotics team was involved in several rover platform designs for various satellite competitions. OWR's project BLUEtounge came 16th out of 40 in the European Rover Challenge 2015, 9th at the 2016 iteration of the challenge and 8th in the 2018 iteration. Spacecraft Attitude Control
Spacecraft attitude control is the process of controlling the orientation of a spacecraft (vehicle/satellite) with respect to an inertial frame of reference or another entity such as the celestial sphere, certain fields, and nearby objects, etc. Controlling vehicle attitude requires sensors to measure vehicle orientation, actuators to apply the torques needed to orient the vehicle to a desired attitude, and algorithms to command the actuators based on (1) sensor measurements of the current attitude and (2) specification of a desired attitude. CubeSat
A CubeSat is a class of miniaturized satellite based around a form factor consisting of cubes. CubeSats have a mass of no more than per unit, and often use commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components for their electronics and structure.
