BFC Preußen Berlin
BFC Preussen is a Football in Germany, German football club from Berlin. The team is part of a sports club which also has departments for handball, volleyball, athletics, gymnastics, and ice hockey. ''Preussen'' was one of the Founding Clubs of the DFB, founding clubs of the German Football Association in Leipzig in 1900. History The club was formed as ''BFC Friedrich Wilhelm'' on 1 May 1894 by a number of players who had left ''Hevellia Berlin''. It was named in honour of Wilhelm, German Crown Prince, Crown Prince Wilhelm, an early and enthusiastic supporter of the new game of football who donated the Länderpokal, Kronprinzenpokal (en: Crown Prince's Cup), the German game's earliest prize. In 1895, the club was renamed ''Preußen'' for the Kingdom of Prussia, and went on to success playing in the Verband Deutscher Ballspiel Vereine (Federation of German Ballgame Teams). Edwin Dutton
Edwin Dutton (8 April 1890 – 24 May 1972) was an Anglo-German footballer and coach. Dutton played as a forward for Britannia Berlin 92, BFC Preussen, Newcastle United and Germany. During the First World War he was interned at Ruhleben, a civilian detention camp in Germany. During the 1920s he managed Stuttgarter Kickers and became the first professional trainer at Ipswich Town. Birthplace Dutton's parents migrated from England to Germany where his father, Thomas Edwin Dutton, became a sporting pioneer, helping introduce football and cricket to Berlin and Wrocław. As a result, there is some confusion over where Edwin was actually born. Conflicting sources have claimed South Shields in Tyne and Wear or Mittelwalde in Germany. NOFV-Oberliga Nord
The NOFV-Oberliga Nord is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the northern states of the former East Germany and West Berlin. It covers the German states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and northern Saxony-Anhalt. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, and until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. Berliner Landespokal
The Berliner Landespokal ( en, Berlin Cup) is an annual football cup competition held by the Berlin Football Association (German: Berliner Fußballverband, BFV). The cup winner qualifies for the national DFB-Pokal. Cup finals are usually held in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark. The competition has been held since 1906, with various interruptions. Record winners are Tennis Borussia Berlin with a total of 16 titles. It is one of the 21 regional cup competitions in Germany. The Berlin-Liga (VI), formerly the Verbandsliga Berlin, is the highest league for football teams exclusively in the German capital. Since German reunification in 1990, it has been the highest level of domestic football in the city, replacing the Amateur-Oberliga Berlin in this position. The Amateur-Oberliga Berlin was the second tier of the German football league system in the city of West Berlin in Germany from 1947 until the formation of the Bundesliga in 1963, operating under the name of Amateurliga Berlin. The Brandenburg football championship (German: ''Brandenburgische Fußball-Meisterschaft'') was the name of highest association football competition in the Prussian Province of Brandenburg, including Berlin, established in 1898. The competition was organized by various regional football associations between 1898 and 1933. The last incarnation of the competition was the VBB-Oberliga. The competition was disbanded in 1933 with the rise of the Nazis to power.
