WBC Slavia Sofia is a Bulgarian women's basketball section of the Slavia Sofia sport society. Men's basketball team of Slavia Sofia is not active. Slavia Sofia was an early powerhouse of Bulgarian women's basketball, winning 12 national championships between 1953 and 1965. In 1959 it won the inaugural edition of the European Cup beating Dynamo Moscow, and in 1965 it won its second title, becoming the only team to knock out Daugava Riga in the competition between 1960 and 1975. It also reached the finals in 1960 and 1965. However, since 1965 the team has not won any additional championships. Its major international success in subsequent years was reaching the Ronchetti Cup's semifinals in 1980. Slavia briefly returned to the national elite in the first half of the 2000s, winning three national championships between 2002 and 2004, and appearing in the new FIBA Eurocup. Bulgarian Women's Basketball Championship
The Bulgarian Women's Basketball Championship is the premier league for women's basketball clubs in Bulgaria. Slavia Sofia is the championship's most successful club with 15 titles between 1953 and 2004 followed by Akademik Sofia and Levski Sofia with eight titles, Lokomotiv Sofia with seven and Minyor Pernik with six, while Neftokhimik Burgas has been the most successful team in recent years with 5 titles since 2005. The championship's leading teams were fairly successful in FIBA Europe competitions during the communist era, with Slavia Sofia and Levski Sofia winning three European Cups and two Ronchetti Cups between 1959 and 1984. PFC Slavia Sofia ( bg, ПФК Славия София) is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Sofia, which currently competes in the top tier of the Bulgarian football league system, the First League. Slavia's home ground is the Stadion Aleksandar Shalamanov in Ovcha kupel with a capacity of 25,556. The team's colours are white and black. The EuroCup Women (officially ''FIBA EuroCup Women'') is the second-level basketball competition with teams from associate members of FIBA Europe. It succeeds the Ronchetti Cup. The Ronchetti Cup (called till 1996 ''European Cup Liliana Ronchetti'') was an annual women’s basketball European club competition held by FIBA between the years 1972 and 2002. It was the second competition in European basketball, after the European Cup For Women’s Champions Clubs (later renamed EuroLeague Women). It was replaced in 2002 by the EuroCup Women which is the absolute equivalent. TTT Rīga is a professional women's basketball club based in Riga, Latvia. "TTT" means Tram and Trolley Trust. The team held its first official game on 5 November 1958. The next 25 years are known as the ''First Golden age'' of the club. WBC Dynamo Moscow (russian: ЖБК Динамо Москва) is a Russian women's basketball club playing in the Russian Premier League. Founded in 1923, it was one of the most successful teams in the early stages of the Soviet Championship, winning its first 6 seasons and 5 more titles up to 1958. Dynamo culminated this golden era reaching in 1959 the final of the inaugural edition of the European Cup, which they lost to Slavia Sofia.
