Barium Borate
Barium borate is an inorganic compound, a borate of barium with a chemical formula BaB2O4 or Ba(BO2)2. It is available as a hydrate or dehydrated form, as white powder or colorless crystals. The crystals exist in the high-temperature α phase and low-temperature β phase, abbreviated as BBO; both phases are birefringent, and BBO is a common nonlinear optical material. Barium borate was discovered and developed by Chen Chuangtian and others of the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Properties Barium borate exists in three major crystalline forms: alpha, beta, and gamma. The low-temperature beta phase converts into the alpha phase upon heating to 925 °C. β-Barium borate (BBO) differs from the α form by the positions of the barium ions within the crystal. Both phases are birefringent, however the α phase possesses centric symmetry and thus does not have the same nonlinear properties as the β phase. Alpha barium bo ...

Big Bang Observer
The Big Bang Observer (BBO) is a proposed successor to the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) by the European Space Agency. The primary scientific goal is the observation of gravitational waves from the time shortly after the Big Bang, but it would also be able to detect younger sources of gravitational radiation, like binary inspirals. BBO would likely be sensitive to all LIGO and LISA sources, and others. Its extreme sensitivity would come from the higher-power lasers, and correlation of signals from several different interferometers that would be placed around the Sun. The first phase resembles LISA, consisting of three spacecraft flown in a triangular pattern. The second phase adds three more triangles (twelve spacecraft total), spaced 120° apart in solar orbit, with one position having two overlapping triangles in a hexagram formation. The individual satellites would differ from those in LISA by having far more powerful lasers. In addition each triangle will b ...

Berbera Airport
Berbera International Airport ( so, Madaarka Caalamiga ah ee Berbera) is an airport in Berbera, a city in the northwestern Sahil province in Somaliland. The airport was renovated and opened to international passengers on 20th November 2021. History The Berbera airport has a runway, one of the longest on the continent. The runway was built by the Soviet Union (USSR) in the mid-1970s in order to counter the United States' military presence in the region. It was rented by NASA at a cost of US$40 million per year, and used as an emergency landing site for the Space Shuttle from 1980 until 1991, when the government of former President of Somalia Siad Barre collapsed. In 2012, Somaliland's Ministry of Civil Aviation contracted the Tekleberhan Ambaye Construction Plc (TACON) in join venture with Afro-Tsion Contracting and investment Company to build a new terminal and perimeter fence at the Berbera airport. The Grade 1 firm had previously constructed various buildings in Ethiopi ...

BBO (Bad Bitches Only)
"BBO (Bad Bitches Only)" is a song by American hip hop group Migos featuring Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage. It was released on January 26, 2018 as a track on the former's second studio album ''Culture II''. The song was written by the artists alongside producers Buddah Bless, Kanye West, DJ Durel, and Mike Dean, with another production credit going to Quavo and another writing credit going to Earl Moss for the sampling of The Festivals "You've Got the Makings of a Lover". Composition The song contains gospel elements from "You've Got the Makings of a Lover" by the Festivals, a horn instrumental and "futuristic synth blips". 21 Savage opens the song with the chorus, in which he raps about his "iced-out" watches, chain and necklace. Critical reception The song was met with generally positive reviews. Jackson Howard of ''Pitchfork'' praised the song's production and the influence from Kanye West. In addition, he wrote that "Despite the usual flurry of inventive Migos quotables and ...

Black Bag Operations
Black bag operations or black bag jobs are covert or clandestine entries into structures to obtain information for human intelligence operations. Some of the tactics, techniques, and procedures associated with black bag operations are lock picking, safe cracking, key impressions, fingerprinting, photography, electronic surveillance (including audio and video surveillance), mail manipulation (flaps and seals), and forgery. The term "black bag" refers to the small bags in which burglars stereotypically carry their tools. History In black bag operations, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents entered offices of targeted individuals and organizations, and photographed information found in their records. This practice was used by the FBI from 1942 through the 1960s. In July 1966, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover allegedly ordered the practice discontinued. President Nixon in 1970 proposed the Huston Plan to reintroduce black bag jobs, but Hoover opposed this, and approval was rev ...

Bureau Bijzondere Opdrachten
The Bureau Bijzondere Opdrachten (BBO, "Office of Special Assignments") was a Dutch secret service during World War II. The BBO dispatched secret agents to the German-occupied Netherlands, where they supported the local resistance and carried out sabotage activities. The BBO worked closely with the British secret service Special Operations Executive (SOE), which played a leading role in the Allied sabotage activities behind enemy lines. The agency's mission included inciting revolt and guerrilla activity in German-occupied territory, hampering the enemy through sabotage action such as blowing up railway lines and assassinating Germans; organising and supporting local resistance groups, for instance by supplying them with arms and ammunition; and supporting the underground press.

Broome Bird Observatory
The Broome Bird Observatory is an educational, scientific and recreational facility located 24 km from Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. It began operating in 1988 under the auspices of the non-profit organisation Birds Australia to provide a base for the study and enjoyment of the birds of Roebuck Bay and adjoining areas. The bay boasts the highest diversity of migratory waders in Australia. In March and April, immense flocks of waders can be watched as they depart to their breeding grounds in the northern hemisphere. Broome Bird Observatory is set in pindan woodland on the northern shore of Roebuck Bay. It was formally opened in 1990 and continues to provide accommodation and birdwatching opportunities for visitors, tours, courses, as well as research facilities for scientists and ornithological expeditions. The Clive Minton Discovery Centre at the Observatory, named after Clive Minton who undertook significant wader research in the area, was opened on 20 ...
