BBC North East and Cumbria is one of BBC's English Regions covering Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside, City of Sunderland, County Durham, Northumberland, most parts of North Yorkshire & Cumbria. Chatton Transmitting Station
The Chatton transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, between Wooler and Seahouses, Northumberland. It is owned and operated by Arqiva, and situated within the boundary of Bewick and Beanley Moors SSSI. The ''Super League Show'' is the BBC's principal rugby league programme, shown on BBC One in the North of England on Monday evenings, repeated nationally on BBC Two on Tuesday lunchtimes and also on BBC iPlayer. The programme, produced by PDI Media at BBC Yorkshire's studios in Leeds, is presented by Tanya Arnold with match commentary from Dave Woods and Andy Giddings and analysis from a variety of studio guests from Super League. ''Daily Politics'' was a BBC Television programme which aired between 6 January, 2003 and 24 July, 2018, presented by Andrew Neil and Jo Coburn. ''BBC Look North'' is the BBC's regional television news service for North East England, Cumbria and parts of North Yorkshire. Spital Tongues
Spital Tongues is a district of Newcastle upon Tyne, located due north-west of the Newcastle City Centre. Its unusual name is believed to be derived from ''spital'' – a corruption of the word ''hospital'', commonly found in British place names (e.g. Spitalfields) - and ''tongues'', meaning outlying pieces of land. North of Spital Tongues is Leazes Park and the Town Moor. Buildings and structures of note Fenham Barracks Fenham Barracks was constructed in Spital Tongues in 1806. Several buildings are the site are listed grade II structures. The barracks has been repurposed as student accommodation. BBC Radio Tees is the BBC's local radio station serving the former county of Cleveland which comprises the unitary authorities of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.
